Alternate Summoning Training

I would like to get 97-99 Summoning, which I've been putting off for entirely too long. (About 2m XP)

I hate Waterfiends, am sick of Slayer, and don't want to deal with the hassle of Rock Lobsters. *Fair enough?*

How are Glacors?

Simple terms of Effigies and charm drop rates would be best, as I'm not sure I can kill them as fast as other people, making per-hour rates particularly unreliable.

Otherwise, is there a reliable rate for Talon Beast Charms per hour? Additionally, what would be the best person to take to hunt the charms specifically? I'm guessing the melee guy at lvl 99 but I'd like to be sure.

I haven't a clue about the talon beast charms, but Glacors are absolutely amazing for charms. In the process of getting two armadyl staves, I have obtained nearly 3000 of both blue and crimson charms from them.

Edit ^Agreed with the ~1.4-1.5 blues and crimsons per glacor. I can kill them in ~1 minute 20 seconds each using ahrims and void (two different setups, same kill time)

Edit 2: since you mentioned effigies - 12 effigies from the first staff, 9 effigies from the second staff. Assuming 1/10 rate for shards, that is 21 effigies in 2000 kills. I wish I had more accurate killcounts but even the RSS feed for my adventurer's log didn't keep that many tracked.

Glacors are great as mentioned, I've heard 1/7.5 for shards with ROW, I don't know if Deacon used one but if he did that's 21 effigies in 1500 kills, about 1/70.

I hear at maxed killspeeds, glacors actually result in more xp/hour than waterfiends and even bursting rock lobs, when you count all the blues and effigies.

I don't know much about that minigame, but i hear talon charms are definatley not very fast to get. And getting the second best alternative while spending the extra time collecting more charms would be MUCH more efficient.

But if you're doing the minigame for other reasons, picking up all the charms along the way would probably add up quite a bit.

Don't spend effigies on summoning.

Why on earth not? It's the most difficult useful skill to train.

Only don't use effigies on summoning if you care about things like agility, slayer and runecrafting and want to max.

I agree. I used over 20 effigies on Summoning, plus every quest lamp I could get my hands on.

Glacors are definitely the best Blue charm droppers right now.

Too bad you need to already have 99 Summon for Steel Titan to kill them at maximum speed.
