AHappySeeker
Higher total offensive bonus in the form of str bonus at well above 50% hitrate. Zerker (i) is unequivocally better for DPS. Onyx does next to nothing in a 6-man if you're all BGSing.
enfield
I don't know about defensive uses of +6 mage def or the accuracy on bgs, but berserker (i) comes with higher damage output for the spear. hmm well when using bgs the str afforded by the zerker (i) is effectively 4 (maybe?). So it would seem onyx(i) would be better for specs, which do have some value, and so give the onyx(i) some added value. On the other hand bgs specs might devalue accuracy bonus, making the onyx(i) worse. probably what would be *best* would be to use a warrior(i) with bgs and zerker(i) otherwise, if you're okay with switching rings. :P . enfield
happyseeker, if that's true, than fire cape is probably better than ardy, and neit (possibly) better than fighter hat on a dps basis.
AHappySeeker
They are with enough def reduction. SWH + BGS duo teams come to mind.
Powerfrog
Yeah... Strength > Accuracy on pretty much anything in runescape. Maybe if you're not BGS or SWH'ing at all the onyx may win, but that would be silly, why are you being silly? Stop being silly. Enfield makes a good point though, for the bgs spec you want it to hit more than you need a highest hit possible, especially since it's max defense at this point, so perhaps the ring swap would be worth it, especially with a warrior. Anon523
If Strength > Accuracy why is Fighter Hat and Ardy Cape preferred over Neitiznot and Fire Cape?
AHappySeeker
Fighter has +5 total offense vs Neit's +3. Ardy has +6 total offense vs fire's +5. If hitting below 50% accuracy after accounting for everything relevant, str and atk contribute the same to DPS, rendering differentiation pointless. People who wear those things at corp are doing it wrong though.
Anon523
So what you're saying is... Fire Cape > Ardy CapeNeitiznot > FighterZerker > Onyx
Saradomin_Mage
Only for accuracy rates above 50%, except for the Zerker (i). In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.
Octarine
you need top consider the sum total of offensive bonuses (that you can use at once) from the items. Ardy = 6 stabfire = 4 str 1 stab6 > 5 so ardy > fire by the same logic zerker(i) beats onyx(i) by 8 str > 6 stab (and also the fact that str is generally better than accuracy bonuses anyway) (This is for <50% accuracy, above which str is basically always better to have) Blog of DG, Bossing (mostly Glacors) and stuff - Runetrack Play Safe! - Got useful information for the tip.it website? Powerfrog
If Strength > Accuracy why is Fighter Hat and Ardy Cape preferred over Neitiznot and Fire Cape?8 strength > 6 accuracy != 1 strength > 400 accuracy. I'd say 1 strength is worth around 1.2 accuracy on corp. So zerker is an easy win, but fire cape is pretty close (Most people only wear the ardy because it also has a much better prayer bonus, or because other people do and they're ignorant of the actual statistics) and 5 accuracy easily beats 3 strength using my above estimation. I once had an argument with someone that insisted ardy cape was better than firecape at black demons with a rapier. So after far too long telling him they're low defense i asked if he'd use ardy over firecape on experiments. He said yes. That guy was dumb. Jadinko
Use stab bonus setup. You get hit less. trolololol Miseryism | Completionist

But corp halves the damage of non-spears, which is the reason why the warrior(i) is better than the zerker (i) for the specs :).
