Huzzah
Hello tip.it. My names Huzzah and I'm a huge fan of the Construction skill. I can remember as far back to when we thought POHs were going to be housed outside of Varrock and Falador. Even though my construction skill isn't as high as I sometimes wish it would be I spent a great deal of time and money building my house and re-building it. I think I finally came out with a design that works for me and even allows me to build up a small dungeon as I progress towards 99. I mapped out the whole thing even though the dungeon is far from finished and would like to share it with you guys. Anyhow one thing that really interests me personally is that most houses are pretty orignal atleast I figure it would be odd to find a handful of the same houses. I would like to see how you guys decided to layout your houses. If we can get enough input then maybe I could piece together some type of catalog to help future tipers with design references or even those looking to re-build/change. I posted my layout below. Just to explain a little bit I tried to add connect dots to show you where you would appear if you were dropped from the throne room or went up the stairs for example. Green lower = green lower, yellow upper = yellow upper, etc. I also enclosed my house from the 'outside area' except for the two exits with the gardens on the main floor. Did this to keep my pets a little closer to the enterence/exit. :) Didn't do a good job of door mapping but couldn't figure it out on the planner I was using. Also the chapel garden is just a regular garden. Dungeon/Basement floor on the left and then it just works its way up. Anyways not sure what else to say. Take it easy! -Huzzah
Kimberly
Because there isn't a substantive topic for discussion other than fun/brief participation, I'm moving your topic to Questionnaires. PM me if you have any questions.
Randox
Here is my house. The planner is a bit outdated, so the treasure room on the ground floor is representing my managerie, and the 3 gardens in the basement represent my 3 pit dungeon rooms. Starting from the top right and going clockwise, the big monsters in my dungeon are: Pit Iron Dragon, Pit Scabarite, Pit Black Demon, Steel Dragon (treasure room). The rest of the dungeon is baby reds. The Oubliette is a bone cage and fire pit, for maximum lethality. There are no longer any teleport traps in my dungeon, only pit traps. I'm also fairly sure there are still a couple rooms left over in my room cap. Every picture is centered around the same location, so they shouldn't be too hard to match up. From top floor to basement: (there is an error. I forgot I have a second combat ring in my dungeon, north of the treasure room) The crafting room is one of very few rooms that is from my original house layout (the kitchen and costume room are the only other rooms still located in their original spot). I used to have another stacked quest/skill hall beyond it, and then my throne room, but that got cut out to free up more rooms for the dungeon (I had 3 staircases at once at one time, with a much larger top floor, but I learned that guests never venture upstairs so I have to keep the entertainment on the ground and in the dungeon). Everything around the bottom formal garden (entrance) is designed to be functional, with the summoning obelisk, alter, mounted glory, and portals as close to the entrance as possible. The ground floor lecturn is eagle, for the conveniance of my guests (most people make tele tabs), with the demon lecturn upstairs where I can use a servant if I need to make more than a couple enchants. Quyneax
Enter Formal Garden (Portal), run east to recharge summoning, south for prayer, west for glory, bank at Edgeville and then teleport to your next monster hunting trip :). Will H
After a quick dabbling in paint: I was aiming more for the aesthetically pleasing house instead of the most efficient one. Inspired by Varrock Castle, which has that hole in the middle with the terribly tall tropical tree. ~ W ~
Alg
Garden connects to Quest Hall via dungeon entrance, Throne Room connects to Oubilette. I painted some stuff and put it on tumblr

cultjunky
Ok, so I've got a pic of my house layout, the rooms in blue are the ones I have, the yellow are the ones I'm aiming for. I've also gone for something aesthetic rather than practical, so some of the doors are in the wrong places, but by the time I came to change my layout, I had some stuff I didn't want to move, so I had to work around that. I was going for a Country House type thing, with an east and west wing. This is what the entrance looks like to give you an idea (sorry it's small) [/url] Edited December 31, 2011 by cultjunky
