stirling105
I know the RoW can increase the chance of getting a unique drop (like hilts at gwd) but doesn't it also increase the chance of "good" items like uncut gems therefore making it less likely to get the unique drop? So what I'm asking is would it be worth it to use a ring of wealth when soloing bosses (tds, bandos, dks, etc) as opposed to no ring at all if I'm only going for the unique drop? This isn't a RoW vs zerker ring question, just ring or no ring? Thx :)
Troacctid
but doesn't it also increase the chance of "good" items like uncut gems therefore making it less likely to get the unique drop? No. There are blank spots on the rare drop wheel that are just "You don't get any item this time"; the Ring of Wealth replaces some of those empty spots with things like uncut gems, and that's where the "good" items come from. This only happens when you get a drop from the rare drop wheel, and it only replaces drops where you would otherwise have gotten nothing at all. So don't worry, you aren't being secretly sabotaged by your Ring of Wealth. ;-) Read my blog | Follow me on Twitter | Track my XP
Helm_Lardar
Aren't super rare drops on a special wheel of their own anyway? I'm not an efficienado.
JPMC Mate
RoW does NOT increase the chance of specific items like hilts or godsword shards. Really? Cause as I recall it was you who was the one cussing me at base. Also, re-read what you just said: one 15 second delay (which is an exaggeration to begin with) ruins floor times? You are beyond ridiculous.
Quyneax
RoW does NOT increase the chance of specific items like hilts or godsword shards.According to the ROW update post, it does. Leaf
Some monsters do not have an "empty" drop. Glacors are the first things that come to mind - 1.8k kills logged without a single drop being "empty" (as in nothing but charms). So yes, I'd say that rdt drops CAN take the place of other drops you would have gotten. Whether the increase in rate of "unique" items justifies this or not though, is another question. I don't think there's enough data to say whether RoW is worth using.
Randox
Charms don't count. Charm drops are entirely independent of all other drops. For the purposes of blank spaces, any time you get a charm and nothing else this would be a blank drop (though there are blank drops on the regular drop table too, not just the one that the RoW affects). Troacctid
RoW does NOT increase the chance of specific items like hilts or godsword shards. This was true in the past, but it has since been changed, and nowadays it does, as a matter of fact, increase the chance of specific items like hilts or godsword shards. essiw
The drop system (leaving charms, clues, quest items and 100% drops aside) consists of 2 "roulettes"If I am right the "unique" drop is on the first wheel and there are some "rare drop" spots on the first wheel. The ROW makes the unique drop appear more frequent on the first wheel (and maybe the rare drop spots too, but I am not sure about that)If the first wheel outcome is a "rare drop" spot it goes to the second wheel. Where there are in most cases a lot of holes, while I know for certain the ROW fills some of the holes with rare items, it could also be that it makes the rare drops more frequent without filling holes at some monster (glacors maybe). http://sign.tip.it/1/2/79/260/essiw.png Retired item crew I would like to be credited as essiw at the website update & corrections forum.
