Training Ranged in Pest Control?

Featured Replies

As the title says, I intend to get my full void set somewhere in the future and I also want to train Ranged, so I figured that I could kill to birds with one stone and do both at the same time.

I have seen many guides in youtube and all seem to agree that PC is not bad for XP; but all of them are at least a few years old, so I am not sure, in any case the equipment I have is Green D'hide body and chaps, archer helm, snakeskin boots, green spiky vambraces, Ava's Accumulator, glory, yew bow and iron arrows, I am also thinking to carry come black knives in my inventory in case I ran out of arrows mid game.

Stats are in my sig and I believe I could use the medium lander; but I can't recall of hand.

The XP rate is really bad, but if you're gonna do it for Void anyway, why not?

Yeah I probably will do it; but can you explain why it is a bad XP rate? Is that new updates have made obsolete for training?

There was a time when PC was great training, but that was years ago, and there may have been an update which caused it.. but yeah, but deff go for void.

Void is worth having if you are ranging, if you have Hati paws, Use them!

Upgrade to a Magic Shortbow and Red d'hide armour as soon s you can. Good luck training, range has hundreds of uses at higher levels, void adding more to it!

I spent most of my Hatii paws getting my entry into the Warriors Guilde  ; but I think I still have 20% or so. Guess it is not a bad idea to use them while they last.

I am also getting about 40 commendation points a day, which according to my calculation it means I am getting my whole set by March, do you recomend I buy the pieces as soon as I get enough points for them or should I wait till I can buy at least a full set?

Well you will reach the 500 points cap eventually, so you might as well start buying the pieces you want.

Didn't know there was a cap

You'll be doing combat during Pest Control anyway, so you might as well put it to use, right? Even if it is halved experience.

And the order you buy the pieces in doesn't really matter. The only advantage a piece has that i can think of is the void robe bottom. It has two more magic defense than black dragonhide chaps. Which are most commonly used for magic defense.

I'd advise doing conquest for a void deflector, too. It takes the place of one void piece(Besides the helm). So you could wear full void with a deflector and dragonhide body for a better range bonus.

Pest Control monsters only give you half the xp most regular monsters do, so in that sense it's bad xp.

Ranged isn't that useful other than Nexing/Armadyl god wars, but it's definitely worth having for Karil's (when you need magic defence), grapples and for total levels.
