Getting through that series without even feeling remotely sorry for any of the cast is IMPOSSIBLE. To be honest, I've only ever watched one, an online friend (from Mabinogi, I think) tried to get me watching it, I don't even remember what it was called but it was better than that looks. I actually think it's kind of parodying itself in a way. The universe it's in just gets more and more absurdly... well, absurd, until they start throwing galaxies like shurikens and firing the equivilant of the big bang at each other. Also, Code Geass. Despite the characters looking like noodle people, it's a very good anime. It's your typical lawful good vs. chaotic good style affair, but which one is which depends entirely on your perspective, which is wierd, but pretty cool in a way. It has mecha as well.
