Recently I've been getting bored, with nothing particularly interesting to read (sequels, new books in a series, books by favourite authors and such) and with games that are beginning to become stale. I've been a GameInformer subscriber for the last few months, and there's not much I care for that has an acceptable rating (damn big-budget companies only churning out M-rated games...) in their magazines, at least nothing that will be out in the next month or two. I've been considering a few things, but keep getting distracted. I've been pondering renewing my Runescape subscription as well as buying World at War, though the former isn't a permanent attraction and the latter has likely declined in players. What I want to know is what games you guys enjoy outside of the usual free text-based, browser, or download games, because I'm obviously only looking at a small portion of the market. Right now I have a Wii, PS3, and fairly high-end custom Windows XP computer, so if anyone recommends Halo I will just get agitated. The total war series is great, if you like seeing huge numbers of soldiers kill each other. For a decent computer, Medieval 2: Total war is good, but if your computer can take it, maybe the newer Empire: Total war or Napoleanic: Total War. Age of Empires is an old favorite. If I were you I'd probably get into sim city, these games literally never ever get old; you can play and play and play and it will always be fun, otherwise Gmod, God of war, Diablo 3 (which is coming soon) and Red Dead redemption all look good. If red dead is a no go with your parents than bioshock will go a lot worse, but it is a very good game, bioshock 2 has a bit of a [cabbage]ty storyline (first big daddy awakened at a later time, its too much of a 'your special' feel instead of a 'you've got to battle your way out of here' feel. Bioshock 3 seems to be returning to a thought provoking game.And its not a big daddy but it is like it, just serving a different function. I think that big daddy is a member of the thought police. Diablo 3 seems great, really addicting though: if there is multiplayer and map designers than maybe the tavern could play games there.
