And then of course, there were the true elites which never saw combat in Ye Olde Hegemony. Skriddeki, the most heavily armoured units in the game, with the stongest warhorses. Essentially immune to spearmen, a nightmare for swordsmen, and worth a number of even those soldiers they were weak against. These were my answer to Western European combat, and if the game hadn't ended they would likely have slaughtered Dusty's troops.

Big heavy armour and mailed warhorses are relatively useless considering I slaughtered all of your troops before they even came off their boats

And my Knights of Santiago could've beat them, easily. Really could've beat any of your units, since I got the full bonus since their bonus was against soldiers of different faith (2x effecitve against heretics, 3x as effective against heathens). So, yea, that armour would do nothing.

Hell, I could probably just kill them with Jinettes, since they'd never even be able to catch them

*Ahem* One, I had 10,000 WITH significant Hlaupari reinforcements.

Two, They weren't on the boats. ;)

I had around 12,000 Knights of Santiago and around 15,000 Jinettes (which I 'made' to counter your Hlapuri...so yea)

If they weren't on the boats then they were sitting around doing nothing in Iceland, which forces me to question your competence as a leader in not using maximum force to destroy one of the biggest threats to yourself.

Erm, land army?

Ok, Maybe we should just get Tech to look up the old PMs and do a mock battle report. It's been bugging me for a while, who would have won.

Goblins is the best webcomic. EVER.

Look it up, don't be deterred by the early pages.

You navigate by clicking the arrow heads at the bottom of the screen. One is one page, two is beginning/end of comic.

Yea, your land army. Iceland is an island, btw...so you need to put your troops in boats and send them off to get them to another piece of land. If they weren't on the boats then they were in Iceland. Unless of course you ordered your heavily armoured men and horses to swim across the Atlantic and invade Spain like that.

Well, I can't be classed as anything really, unless there's something that intrinsicly states that i don't give a crap if theres a god or not.

It's hard to make judgements on what a person's religion is by looking at the character of a person. There are all kinds of people in every religion, but we probaly haven't scratched the surface on the complex character that is Rocco.

Maybe you should learn more about Buddhism before lecturing a Buddhist about it.

Huh? As i've said, i don't care about gods, but Budhism is about the god Buddah, one who gained enlightenment and acended to a holy land.. I think. Haven't brushed up on world religion latley.

I was talking to Earth. And I know what I said was extremely rudimentary but doesn't Buddhism include belief in that gods may or may not exist but that they are not present among us?

Edit: Earth, you just failed epicly, Buddha is proven to have lived, Buddhism is the belief that you must have good morality and that through meditation you may reach enlightnement and become a buddha (note small b).

Rocco is mostly correct. The thing is that Buddhism was around for so long, that eventually in some regions, it began adopting gods. In my experience, most Buddhists believe that there are gods, but they are closer to "powerful" beings that almighty beings. Infact, it is better to be a human than a god because the gods are tempted by pleasures and material things, so it's harder to achieve enlightenment as a god.

I have a question for christians, if god created the world why did he create humans to fight wars and cause suffering to one another; surely he should've made us perfect. Why would anyone make a concious descision to allow a person to kill thousands of jews, or allow torture and war? Why would he give people diseases? The answer can not be divine retribution, if he made us bad than it is our nature to be bad.

Ergo, I conclude that their is no higher power influencing things, there could've been one that sparked something off but I don't think that it had a concious descision in making it.

I think diety would be a more proper word than god.

In stargate the entire consept of Buddhism in that form is used as the belief in enlightnement and the Ancients.

Edel, that is explained in Genesis in the story of Adam and Eve.

the Ancients.

Budhism isn't ancestor worship at all. There is no 'ancients' in budhism, there is the story of Prince Siddhattha and thats as ancient as it gets.
