Ieyfura
People say that, but really, we judge everyone we meet subconsciously and alter our behaviour to suit them...The Sterotypes still exist... Not everyone judges others like that. I myself am a "learn the facts first" type. I've met ppl who were complete a-holes but ended up as there friend as that was something out of character for them (I learned this by reserving judgement and NOT blowing them off) You go ahead and believe everyone's judgemental :P Even if we are subconsciously, I guess I don't notice it, especially when I try to give everyone a chance. (Except pigs, they're obvious by the whole catcalling/groping they do. They don't get a chance xD ) "Don't get in my face, don't invade my space. archimage_a
I see...So there are no differences between men and women? You meet a bunch of loud, drunk men in a dark alley way and your responce is exactly the same as if you met a bunch of loud, drunk women? The ability to take a fast assessment is what has kept humans alive for hundreds of thousands of years, dismissing that ability is a very foolish thing to do...The better option is to draw a complete picture based on all the attributes of a person, including your first impression....not to dismiss them, or your own instincts. Though personally I try to help people regardless, I am aware of what my instincts tell me. http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts. Ieyfura
Yes there are apparent differences, but I was more assuming you meant the average person you might meet. It would be foolish to go into a dark alley full of drunk men. They'd end up getting hurt xD Tech and other ex clan members know what I mean ^.^ "Don't get in my face, don't invade my space. Earth
err. clan? you were in a runescape clan, ima guess? never really got into that game, too much grind, not enough fun. and actually, reactions and instincts mingle withlogic and reason most times. they disagree, however, on what action to take. archimage_a
 The point is that the instincts exist, and if you use them in one part of your life, then it makes sense that you use them in all parts of your life. IE. 'This situation is dangerous because these people are under the influence and thus cannot be trusted to act within societal norms' vs 'This situation is not dangerous because these people are not under the influence, and thus can be trusted to act within societal norms.' Of course the Sunday Granma's Tea Meet attendes may very well be under the influence and you are simple not aware of it...or they may act outside societal norms because they also happen to be totally insane....the point is we make an assessment and then we continually refine that assessment as new data is fed to us. You just have a very board scope of acceptance =) http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts. Nexaduro
Yes there are apparent differences, but I was more assuming you meant the average person you might meet. It would be foolish to go into a dark alley full of drunk men. They'd end up getting hurt xD Tech and other ex clan members know what I mean ^.^I forget that incident... care to remind me? Also, egocentric though it may sound, in practice I've found the best way to understand and accept your fellows is to see them as extensions of yourself. What makes us human bonds us together with the little eccentricities we wrongly think are aspects of our personality alone. For example, one of the more popular girls (Sylvie, but only Tech and Earth would know about her) in my school who I never had reason to identify myself with apparently shares a trait I've never seen in anyone but myself. Whenever a certain kind of music comes on, we go glassy eyed and stare into the middle space, absently mouthing the words and matching the beat perfectly tapping our feat. It's a very simple and pure joy for those who experience it, and knowing that I'm not the only one makes me feel a happiness like that of nostalgia. Sure, many people tap their feet or do an impromptu kareoke of their favourite songs, but this is something distinct and instantly recognizable, and those experiencing it sing perfectly along with the song even if they've never heard it before. I have reason to believe that this most often occurs with musicians. However, whether it develops with exposure to music or draws its hosts to music in the first place I cannot say. And there's my psychological and philosophical contribution for the day. I got a million of 'em. 10:53 PM - retech9691: I feel the need10:53 PM - retech9691: To include many chasms in my story arc10:53 PM - Resistance: You mean plotholes? Earth
normammly that applies to me, but on special occasions you add a blunt or sharp instrument, such as an axe, and replace the wall with a rock/tree. i love those special ones. makes it more fun. Retech
I experience that glassy eyed thing with well played classical music. Then again, it might be because after listening to baroque music for hundreds of hours in total, you can predict the melody, because lots of the composers reuse melodies. Nexaduro
Foot+Head+Wall+Hospital???I did disappear for quite a while, you know. Does Retech remember? And was this in Twin Dragons or Draconic Disciples? I figured you might, Tech. Some people really just enjoy music completely on a very base level. Those are the kind of people who get the glassy-eyed thing. It's kinda funny though, seeing it happen to someone else. Their heads just snap up and they don't notice anything but the music. I saw Sylvie do that when someone played music on their IPod in tech class, and the image immediately called to mind was the dogs from the movie "Up." The Dark Lord
Mather, I have toyed with the possibility of creating a forum site for Falador Tavern because it causes confusion when people think we are Runescape-related when we indeed have nothing to do with that game. Our community really doesn't fit in with the rest of the communities that make up Tip.it, in my opinion. We are pretty unique, and I do agree that it's a shame that we don't have custom-made rules that better fit our community. I do think we can survive off of our host, Tip.it, but an autonomous community site is definitely an option in the future. SWAG Mayn U wanna be like me but U can't be me cuz U ain't got ma swagga on. Nexaduro
I kicked someone's head into a thin wall at the hospital lol.Don't remember that. However, I have a gymnast classmate who tossed herself halfway through a thin wall practicing a backflip. Scared the heck out of the kids on the other side. Also, I've broken a number of ceilings and walls myself, always by accident and usually during school. 10:53 PM - retech9691: I feel the need10:53 PM - retech9691: To include many chasms in my story arc10:53 PM - Resistance: You mean plotholes?
