I've heard the polypore staff is an easy and fast method of finishing the caves and obtaining the cape. However, being poor and slightly noobish, I have no idea what kind of gear i should use. I've put together a setup in the picture below. Feedback is appreciated :thumbup: as well i plan my inventory as having 7 brew flasks, a vecna skull (or a magic flask), 4 prayer renewal flasks, and 16 super restore flasks. The_Fray Posted February 26, 2012 Share Posted February 26, 2012 Arcane stream would probably be the biggest upgrade, and it would well worth getting as it will be useful even after you get your fire cape. Can you not get RFD gloves at your defence level? Replace the skill cape with mage arena cape. Is there a particular reason you are using a granite shield? Replace that with a mage's book or unholy book. Try your best to maximize mage attack, as it will make your life a lot easier on Jad. Gueenea Pyig Posted February 26, 2012 Author Share Posted February 26, 2012 Well I have really low dungeoneering so arcane stream is not really a possibility...I have the regen breace because I've heard the slight mage attack bonus of barrows gloves is not as good as the regenerative properties of the regen brace.The skill cape is for prayer bonus because I already have very little. I'm using the granite shield because the fungal armor gives a range defence penalty and the last two times I attempted the fight caves I didnt even get to Jad mostly because of the 90s hitting constantly on my defence. I'm not too worried about Jad to be honest, Ive practiced some prayer switching on cliff in troll invasion and it seems pretty straightforward... Do you think defence is better than mage attack in this case? I just feel as though I am going to get hit too much by the rangers on the later leverls with the 360s and not have a chance to even fight jad...As well, should I wait until I get these as a task for the added bonus of the slayer helm or is this fine? My only concern in your case is that mage accuracy is a little low, but then again I maybe be completely wrong and you can easily do the caves. I am not really sure, I have always gone in with around 130+ mage attack bonus and I rarely splash. The 90s do get past my defence but I kill them in 2-3 hits so they aren't even a concern. EDIT: There is also a new safespot that every one has been talking about, I am sure someone posted a video about it as well. Try looking into it. Ren Posted February 26, 2012 Share Posted February 26, 2012 Crystal shield has higher def and absorbs than Granite shield, if you want to spend a little more time on getting better gear. Also ask around for a fury loan, loads better than a Glory. Also don't think reverence will help you much, unless you have super-compromised inventory slots. As for the accuracy/defence issue I'll maybe run some tests but yeah thanks :thumbup: A fury loan would be awesome I never really thought of that.. The aura isnt really necessary but why not it doesnt really hinder me at all... I did an attempt on my 1 defense account, something like 82 mage attack, and I was actually hitting consistantly.
