I don't know about snowballs at cars. But one time me and my friend were walking through the park and we found some beer bottles. Anyway right where we found them there are a few apartment buildings. So my friend is like hey throw it come on, I said no, so he took it and just threw it. *BAM*, so this guy was just gettin in his van and so he started to chase us, with his van (fortunately for me, but unfortunately for the story), so we booted it. After that I decided not to do anything like that again, lol.

Once you hit 18 you can't exactly get away with marginal criminal offenses. A month or two ago a deer ran into the side of my car and knocked the side mirror off (the bracket was still intact) and it cost over $400 just to get a new mirror put on =\

the $200 dollars wasnt all the cost of the damage, half of it was the ticket he gave us.

 

 

 

I am actually one of the fastest runners in my school and he was very in shape. And he did not beat us up, i never said anything about getting beat up by him, just got a ticket.

Why don't you put a big sign up outside of your house with a similar statement saying that you encourage teenagers to do whatever they want with your property, as long as they're enjoying themselves. Then all the teenagers within 50 miles can come and throw rocks at everything you own (which I suspect isn't much). It might divert some vandalism from the property of those who do care about what they've worked for.

I think you're taking what I said a little further than I meant it. I think that kids should be able to do things that are fun, and stupid, within reason. Throwing a snowball at a car, or egging a car or TPing someone's house is fun and considered vandalism but it is a far cry from arson. I'm not encouraging teenagers to run around throwing bricks through people's windows, I'm simply saying that teenagers should have fun while they can.

I understand your position in theory though, but still think that those kinds of things are unnecessarily involving other people who have to clean up someone else's fun, when they didn't ask for it and don't know who did it. In addition, it can make some (usually old) people quite unhappy and afraid in their own house, which is a high price to pay for a few minutes of fun.

And yes, the cop was right to discipline him and his cousin but to throw him in jail for throwing a snowball? So what about Senior Pranks at High Schools? Should the entire Senior class be thrown in jail for playing a traditional prank on the school?

Heh, I can't really judge anyone doing this. When I was 14 me and a mate were caught by a policeman walking his dog (who happens to live 2 houses away from me) throwing snowballs at houses. Can't say were doing it to damage the property, just doing it to be annoying or something I dunno. Totally learnt my lesson like.

Well it was also a snowball... It's not like you were caught dropping rocks onto car windshields from a freeway overpass. I wouldn't consider throwing snowballs vandalism. You're not defacing property or necessarily deliberately attempting to destroy it. It's a childish thing that kids do.

Are you kidding? If someone crashed because a snowball hit the side of his car, he really shouldn't be driving in the first place. Seriously, veering into another car and killing someone? What if he skid on the snow? What if he happened to run over something small on the road? What if someone were to honk loudly right next to him and startle him? If your reaction to a loud thump on the side of your car is completely turning your steering wheel, not hitting the brakes, and crashing into something, you most definately could not handle any of the things I mentioned (which are much more likely to happen) and should not be driving.

Besides, throwing a snowball at a car is hardly vandalism. Just a really **** thing to do. I highly doubt a snowball could make a dent in a car. I've thrown snowballs at my windows, my cars, stop signs and nothing has happened. He probably packed some ice into it or something by accident.
