With the release of carapace armor, is snakeskin armor going to be trashed?!

Both sets of armor require 30 def and ranged to be equipped and their stats are identical, but take a look at the table, it is a lot more dangerous to obtain a piece of snakeskin than a piece of carapace. Plus you can craft a carapace armor directly without tanning. Also the material and skill requirement is much higher when making snakeskin armor compared to its carapace counterpart, making the former much less useful and less economical to make them.

Snakeskin armor seriously needs to be buffed, otherwise its existence will be meaningless.

P.S. Admin, can you please include a "table" option to the Special BBCode? I cannot create a table for comparison!

Moved to H&A as this seems more like a one-off question.

You can create a table using code tags:

[code]Monospace lettering goes here
[/code]

I think snakeskin is already trash, both armour sets are sufficiently cheap that the only practical difference is looks. E.g. its existence is already meaningless.

There might be some fixes to come about for the armor, with the carapace armor being so easy to get and faster to craft they might just boost snake skin armor.

Act as one for the whole, not as one for yourself.

An Unlikely scenario. What are they going to boost it to? T35? Not much of a difference. T40? RIP ranger boots and green dragon hides.

Take in mind that a Snakeskin is technically a lot easier to get than Green Dragon hides, and lower crafting requirement as well.

Just add crit to it.

In WoW they have a term called twinks. These are runescape pure pkers or noob pkers. I foresee some older armor being made into high grade low level armor (I.e. having higher crit than the other stuff).

Just add crit to it.

The whole point of EoC was to remove offensive bonuses from armour, I can't see this happening. Snakeskin had its time as have many items, I guess the best solution would be to buff it to tier 35 like chenw said.. Regardless, carapace didn't really need to be added
