Mr Speaker
Disclaimer: I'm not sure if you'd refer to me as midranged, but certainly I'm not high leveled. I'd like to do QBD for many reasons, mainly to kill myself up some money. Planned set up: Void Melee HelmSoul Wars CapeFury[No Arrows]Chaotic RapierElite Void BodyDragonfire ShieldVoid Robes (I can get this elite if necessary)Void GlovesDragon BootsZerk Ring The problem I'm running into is I'm unsure what summoning familiar to use (74 summoning), and how to cope with the fact that my herblore is dismal(70 herblore). Hopefully, I'll get good at killing QBD/get lucky with killing her and can buy 85 herb soon. Any help? The rest of my stats are in my sig, if curious. Quyneax
I am by no means an expert on QBD hunting. But I think ranged might actually be easier, as you can avoid her melee attacks and keep attacking during the fire waves and whatnot. Your best familiar would probably be a war tortoise (if that gives you another kill per trip) or otherwise a bunyip I guess. jayc3399
Use range it's 1000 times easy mostly because you limit the number of worm spawns. The only down side is the souls are crush weak so they can suck. Fire Essling
To start off making money I would advise you to range. After you get used to QBD you can try melee but only if you have a chaotic maul Note: Crystal bow seems to work decently as a low cost alternative Website corrections ~ Items & Shops ~ Bestiary ~ Quests ~ Maps & Calculators[spoiler=Rare Drops/Splits (Feb 2013 - ??)]
chenw
Or Black Salamander, in fact its a lot cheaper than Crystal Bow. It's what I used in my first trip, though I have a higher combat level. 6,924th to 30 hunting, 13,394th to 30 summoning, 52,993rd to 30 DivinationKiln Record (Post-EoC): W 25 - L 0, 14 Uncut Onyx, 8 Jad hits received (Best record: Two in the same kiln)Obby set renewed post update #2: 0QBD drops: 21 crossbow parts, 3 Visages, 1 Kites, 2 KitsMax Port Score [2205] Achieved: 27th April 2013 (World 2nd) Farmyard Rampage ranking: 12th, 50,000 Kills. Squid81
Since the EOC launch the QBD is much, much easier ive killed it with range and mage, most people have told me they find range easier but i manage to get the most kills without any problems with mage using the blood blitz spell with full gano. Range is good for the qbd herself but its so inaccurate on the souls that spawn and end up taking a lot of damage from those.
derekreader
Or Black Salamander, in fact its a lot cheaper than Crystal Bow. It's what I used in my first trip, though I have a higher combat level. Crystal bow has 2,500 arrows for 180,000gp, 72gp/arrow. Harralander Tar is buying for 125gp atm, so Crystal bow is actually 53gp cheaper per arrow.

You can step through them as soon as you see the text appear, their attacks will hit them. A little practice and you can do it most of the time until the final phase when quite often they are spread out all over (and then it's still easy to stop two attacks). Aside from that, just bringing a crush weapon if you want to kill them (or for the time stop souls), or just ignore them.
