Am I the only one...

Featured Replies

So I haven't trained combat in forever but I decide to go to waterfiends for some crimson charms and I find out that they are ridiculously hard now. I used a crystal bow, royal d'hide and a bunyip with no food. I tried out black demons too with the same result. Am I doing something wrong?

Waterfiends and Black Demons are now only weak to Bolt ammo, since the EoC changes.

Plus, there was a major defense buff (and consequent rebalance), to many monsters - which included the Waterfiends, so I don't know how much their defensive capability has risen.

Its all about check monster weakness then use style they are weak for. As Arch saying use bolts vs them, best available crossbow 2 handed will be vest choice, but dual wield also will do fine with momentium on.

Try using bolts, that should help your accuracy. Royal crossbow is very good, much higher accuracy and a good bit higher damage. Royal dragonhide is low-tier ranging armour, try upgrading to Karil's. Sadly there is no affordable tier 75/80 ranged equipment like ganodermic is for magic.

Secondly, waterfiends were never easy to do properly (e.g. chaos tunnels with titan). Now with multicombat everywhere, even less so.

I did a Waterfiend task this morning and I tore through them with chaotic crossbow, broad bolts (royal bolts are better, but I had loads of broads left over) and momentum. Defensively I used Karil's and a unicorn and lasted the whole task without the need for food or prayer.

Obviously I don't know your stats but the important things are:

> High magic defence (Karil's top and body are good, costs about 1m for both)

> Bolts + good crossbow (Chaotic, Royal or hand cannon)

> Bunyip/Unicorn

You're pretty close to a bank if you kill them in the Ancient Cavern so it's easy to get food/potions if you need them.

After the defense buff using full armadyl, karil's xbow and extreme ranging potion I was missing +50% of my attacks (98 ranged). Switched to Magic and ripped them appart twice as fast despite them being only weak to Bolts ^^ . ABS + abilities ftw

Rule #14 - Don't argue with trolls, it means they win.

Black demons are still as weak as ever, did a 224 task in like 20 minuts with karils.

Yesterday's update supposedly lowered the defenses of a number of monsters. The patch notes only mentioned steel dragons and dark beasts specifically, but I imagine a good number of Slayer monsters were included. I did tasks of gargoyles pre- and post-update with the same setup, and found the post-update to be ridiculously easy.

i tried iron dragons and i wasnt hitting them worth a damn. could kill 7 on momentum with 1 dose on antifire a month ago, tried today after the "rebalance" killed two and it took forever
