Gem-Finding Scrimshaw

I recently got enough ancient bones from POP to make a scrimshaw, but the only one I have the scroll for is Gem-Finding.

Is it worth making one, or should I save the bones for a different scrimshaw?

If I should save the bones, which scrimshaw scroll should I start working towards?

And if I make a Gem-Finding, should I make a superior to use myself or a tradable one to sell?

You should aim for armours instead, scrimshaws kinda suck.

I think gem-finding is one of the few scrimshaws worth something (~1.5-2m), because of the chance to find an onyx, but I don't know for sure. Bones don't have any use besides scrimshaws, so if you want money from ports, then make one (find a good price check first).

I sold tetsu legs @ 25m a few days ago, which is 500k per plate. As far as I know, scrimshaws top at 2m each, 200k per bone. Based on those prices, it's much, much better to focus on armour.

I think the GFS are 700-900k street.

If you're looking to make money, Vampyrism are currently the highest priced scrimshaws, worth about 1-1.3M.

Probably should start investing scrolls into Cruelty too once the t90 range weapons are announced.

I sold a gem finding scrimshaw for ~600k last week

DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers rings

QBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow parts

It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.

I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty).

Gem finding scrimshaws are a waste of time imo.

I've now used 3 Superior ones & have still to find an Onyx, only 5 D/Stones in this time as well.

I used mine on Rune Rocks & Bane ore.

Now saving bones for next scrimshaw scroll, once I've completed the Armour sets (only Death Lotus Chaps to go).

I'm also working towards armor scrolls, currently have seasinger top+legs complete and starting on death lotus legs.

I got the scrimshaw scroll first when I still didn't know what I was doing, and I gathered the bones because I didn't have any better missions to send out (I've barely had any trade good missions, and only 68% through bowl so I have a while to go until I get enough trade goods to make anything).

I guess I will be saving the bones for a vampyrism/cruelty scrimshaw when I get the scrolls, though that isn't going to happen until after I get death lotus legs completed.

I cannot get enough plates to warrant getting tetsu scrolls at this time, and I also don't have the smithing level to do anything with plates once I get them so they are low priority. I also cannot get many lacquer because my thieving is low, but once I finish the assassin storyline I will be close enough to 60 to warrant getting the leg scrolls.

Thanks for the advice
