Shiva's Service

I, for one, agree. We should have the service in Lumbridge, near the cemetery used in The Restless Ghost quest. All deserve to pay respects to a person they loved, and not just paying people.

A sweet and true friend,

Like an arrow in clear skies.

You cannot feel the burden we bear,

When such a loved one dies.

Together we shall never forget,

Never let his memory rest.

After all his mind was pure,

And his friendship best.

What do we seek in this attempt?

A flower in our eyes.

But why forget a good friend,

When he suddenly dies.

You nor I know of the anguish,

That his family faced.

But finaly one may say,

That he is in his rightfull place.

Greater than you or I,

But I do not fear of,

For he was one of generosity,

Plesent as a dove.

What would have wanted,

In his dying breath?

Loving family and friends,

Before his death.

He got what he was sent here for,

The emotions of us all.

We grieve for that sad day,

When he took his greatest fall.

In loving memory of you Shiva. May you guide us all.

Ian

I totally agree with you. I am F2P myself but I think even we deserve to pay our repects to our dear friend Shiva.

If it could be 10pm EST on any day it would fit perfectly into my busy IRL schedule. Perhaps we should all wear nothing but priest robes and perhaps a holy symbol on our necks.

I never knew Anarith very well but he was a very mature and logical person.

I also think we should dedicate a part of RuneScape, maybe a spescific tree, statue, or some sort of object in the f2p RuneScape world to Shiva.

EDIT: Maybe we can have seperate funerals so everybody can have a chance to attend?

Now thart's a thought.

It should be in the Lumbridge Church, in World 7.

This memorial was discussed in this thread as well, please give your opinion there.

Unfortunately, I couldn't make it at around 10 PM due to real life issues (I need to sleep lots for work).

About the two funerals - I think we should get everyone to go to only one, in a location such as the Lumbridge Church, because it is near a cemetery and we can use the coffins for a part of the service. There is no need to put members and free-players on separate services for the same event. What unites us is that we are a community. We are Tip.it'ers!

This was my two cents.

edit: blipo, please keep in mind that this service may be in free-playing worlds. Can Prayer books be read aloud in free-to-play as well?

No, it only works on memebr worlds. I think text in white would be more fitting anyway.

I tested with another player on high detail and he said that he could hear the cruch organ play when I alone clicked it. He said he heard sound, his music was on and he was on high detail. He heard the church organ play. So this means gthat if one player plays the organ, everyone in the vicinity will be able to hear its sound.

Is there anybody very close to Shiva? Because I think that person should be the one to play it.

I don't want to be the one to claim to have been the closest to him via RS, but I know we were very close.. I only found out yesterday about the tragic news.. I know it was late, but I don't browse these boards much these days.. I was in too much shock and.. very sad to type and post a message yesterday..

Can someone pm me on here about details of this memorial? Ks_Jeppe, could you please do this for me... Its making me all teary now.. :(

The community of RuneScape is not really such devined and doesn't have much symphatie to people they don't know, I also don't think that Jagex or any other RuneScape player that didn't knew him (I also don't know him, but he seems like a swell guy) would show any respect to him, and like I said, the community is one big hole of flaming wood, mostly people won't care and would call Anarith names which is completely stupid.

I suggest not to take this Memorial such worldwide or something, keep it over people over Tip.it and don't include people that didn't knew him OR Jagex.

Hey all, it's a real shame I never met this player -- though honestly I'm more of a loner (e.g skiller) on RS --- probably like a some lurkers on these forums as well...

Anyways, I'll let you who knew him figure out how to honor him, though it's incredibly humbling that a someone of so few years had such an impact on all of you. Given your grieving and sincere efforts to honor him, he must have been a great guy... I'm sorry I never got to know him.

Another point (for the service you were suggesting) -- maybe part of the service could inclue bull roarers? I know some of you might think they're obnoxious, but hey, anything you can do, ya know? (I know this would mean f2p would be out of the question.)

All right, that's about it from me. Nice to see that someone who put his heart into this game has been missed; and also a sobering example to those who claim the "community" has been lost in RS -- I think you can find it if you work to create it for yourself. I myself have not made that effort significantly, but still have had a lot of fun regardless. Anyways, sorry to hear the bad news, but from what I hear Shiva loved this game, and enjoyed making people happy, so... Happy RSing...

See ya around everyone.

Even though i didnt know him, I still feel that I would come, mainly because he seemed helpful on the forums, and seemed pretty cool at the two or three TET events i had been to where I had seen him.

Perhaps we can keep this ceremony at the church behind the Port Sarim food store?

I personally feel it looks better after the update; more...holy.

The monastary might not work for people who dont have the prayer requirement, and people at lumbridge would probably come in and crack jokes, highly unfitting for a memorial service.

There's even a small cemetary there to use for the services.

Yeah, I never thought of that place. It's perfect and "holy". And it's big enough so that it wont be crowded. TET please make one if your not planning to.

EDIT:You're right about Lumbridge a lot of people would come in and could possibly make fun of people who are there and a lot of people would become offended and could start making trouble which is definetly not what we want.

Agreed. Not all of mankind shares in the sympathies of a small group of people. I'm sure that I would feel some sort of pangs of sadness had I know him or known anyone that dies suddenly and in the way that Shiva "Anarith" did.

Perhaps the best way to remember Anarith is to have fond memories of him as he lived and your own interactions with him, no memorial site would do as his memory would be with each person individually and no spot could (or should) be able to hold your own thoughts and feelings towards him, Runescape is a game, it can be taken down, redesigned and wiped clear off the face of the earth, eventually we all will forget about Runescape, but a friend who passed before their time, that should (and will) live on in the minds and hearts of those who befriended him.
