Steps to obtain more than one gauntlet: -

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Prerequisites: -

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This method requires you to complete recruiment drive so you may respawn at Falador when you die and also digsite quest.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

You need to know where to find Dimintheis (east Varrock) because he will return the gauntlets to you if you should loose them and also the brother that is found at the chasm mines north of Al Kharid, who will enchant your gauntlets to goldsmithing ones.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The following steps assumes that you have a cooking gauntlets and you need to obtain the goldsmithing gauntlets.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1. Obtain 4 vials of nitroglycerin from the digsite.

 

 

 

2. Bring 3 dragon weapons together with the gauntlet to the chasm mine and make sure you are within the vicinity of the brother (he is known as, 'Man')

 

 

 

3. Make sure you are not skulled and drop the nitroglycerin until you die. Each nitroglycerin incurs 25 damage. You will retain all your 3 dragon weapons but your gauntlet will be dropped.

 

 

 

4. As soon as you respawn in Falador, quickly run to the bank and withdraw Varrock teleport runes, ring of dueling and 25,000 gp.

 

 

 

5. Teleport to Varrock and run to Dimintheis and obtain another pair of gauntlets.

 

 

 

6. Using the ring of dueling, teleport to Al Kharid dueling arena and quickly run towards the chasm mines.

 

 

 

7. Your previous gauntlet will still be on the ground but instead of trying to pick it up, talk to the brother and enchant the cooking gauntlets to goldsmithing ones.

 

 

 

8. Pick up your previous gauntlet and voila! 2 gauntlets!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now the condition is, you CANNOT have 2 different kind of gauntlets in the bank because if you do, whenever you log off and log back in, you will retain only 1 gauntlet, the one you just enchanted. So decide which gauntlet you want to stick with and pay another 25,000 gp to turn the other pair to the pair you want to keep.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Remember, if you ever decide to enchant your gauntlet to another, you have to do both before logging off.

Blurite Sword - Currently not obtainable again after quest.

Yeah, I think that most of us know that already.

 

 

 

So, how about telling those who haven't done the quest yet how to get 2 or more?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

My understanding is that it's basically:

 

 

 

1) Get lots of blurite ore.

 

 

 

2) Get lots of redberry pie.

 

 

 

3) Give ore and pie to Thurgo and get the sword, then drop it.

 

 

 

4) Repeat step 3 until desired number of swords has been reached and then pick up all of the swords.

 

 

 

5) Go to squire and drop all but 1 sword.

 

 

 

6) Give sword to squire to complete the quest.

 

 

 

7) Pick up all of the swords on the ground and bank 'em.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The key step is #5. I read that if you don't do it right, the squire will take all of your swords :(

 

 

 

I haven't made a newbie character to try it though.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Oh, also, you should add the key to Melzar's maze too.

 

 

 

My understanding is that members can buy the key in the legends guild

 

 

 

but free players can only get the key while doing the quest.

 

 

 

Using the standard drop and talk method free players can get lots.

 

 

 

But... after they Dragon Slayer quest is finished, Oziach will refuse to give you another.

I added the god capes and god books to the list, however neither can be obtained again.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I also added the maze key to the list.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Goobore, why I didn't list those instructions is most people reading this will have done the quests and looking for the item(s) after. Afterall most of us don't give it much thought til after the quest anyways. But the submission is appreciated, as i'm sure some will find it useful.

in order to make it complete enough to be worth a sticky.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

That way, even if a player can't get an item because he finished the quest,

 

 

 

he knows what to tell the new player that just asked him where the blurite

 

 

 

mine is because he read it in your guide.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

To me, anything worth stickying should be as complete as possible.

There are 2 ways you can get another lyre: -

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1. The most common method is to cut a branch from a swaying tree and whittle it to an unstrung lyre and buy a golden wool from Lalli the troll for 1,000 gp and spin it to a lyre string.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. Kill the civillians in Rellekka for fully strung lyres. Do note that it is an uncommon drop.

jwrm, I assumed since a kitten or a cat worked equally during the quest, that it would be the case here too but i haven't checked it with a kitten. I used the fully grown black cat that I originally used to complete the quest, maybe that'll help? I've completed all quests, destroyed the (e) one, then talked to get another non (e) amulet, dropped and talked again and repeated til I had 5. No idea of those new cats work or not, but i'm having no problems receiving additional catspeak amulets.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

DiLord, answer on the gold gaunts would be no, due to the only reason you can pick them up is because they are two different types of gaunts. Having both sets gold, you'd be unable to pick up one set. Recommend changing them to cook, then following drools instructions.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Another thought that crosses my mind on the gaunts is, by similar logic, i would imagine that you can have the cooking ones changed to chaos, then the gold ones to cooking, and repeat the process for a third set. However I do urge caution as I haven't tested that.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Also thanks for the lyre instructions, i've added those to the guide, as well as many other new additions, and a reference to Goobores instructions on obtaining duplicate blurite swords if you haven't completed the quest.

I've done it. I died sometime after the quest and lost my first shield (only one I had at the time), and got a new one with no problems. :D

Just talk to that kid Askeladden, outside the bar in Rellekka and tell him you lost your rock to obtain another. You dont even have to drop it, you can tell him you lost it with one in your inventory.

this is an excellent guide!! i'm a big fan of duplicating items. look in my sig i made a guide to going f2p fom members. duplicating your items does more than just keep your bank layout neat!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

i have an addition for you.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Golden Helmet - withdraw your helmet and enough gold bars to make the amount of helmets you need. each helmet requires 3 gold bars. take a hammer and telegrab runes and go to any anvil and drop your helmet, then use a gold bar with the anvil. make a helmet , drop it and repeat. then telegrab the helmets off the ground, it wont let you pick them up
