Warpriest of Zamorak/Saradomin - worth getting?

Hello tip.it! Long time Runescape player here (probably started somewhere around 2005), who have just returned to the game. I've got turmoil/overloads, soon pack yak and maxed combat stats except magic (which is at an embarassing level of 88). When it comes to gear I got full bandos and armadyl banked, with a chaotic maul and longsword as well as a royal crossbow.

What I'm wondering is if the new lvl 75 battle of lumbridge gear is worth getting? I've done some Kalphite King with a couple of friends and plan on doing general PvM and bossing, and I've heard something about hybriding being good at KK/Nex.

Thanks in advance!

Hybriding and Hybrid armor are two completely different ideas.

Hybrid armor is one where it is not particularly strong or weak against any of the 3 styles.

Hybriding is the act of bringing at least 2 of Ranged, Magic or Melee to a particular boss.

Not worth it for PvM, but it's guaranteed-kept-on-death (outside the Wilderness) and fairly cheap, so you might as well.

I do know what hybriding means, what I meant was that I wondered if the BoL armour was worth using while hybriding?

Thanks anyway guys, seems like I might as well buy lamps to use on Agility...

the BOL is good for dpsing at kalphite king IF you have a good healvoker AND are tribriding (not just hybriding) AND either can't afford nex gear/don't trust your connection/don't feel like tryharding with armour switches. if you do decide to go with it, i would recommend wearing t80 or t85 boots+gloves+helm as they don't affect your accuracy but would give a greater defence bonus.

I tried soloing dag kings in full warpriest and either i just suck at dag kings or it's bad but I ate through a yak in 1 ovl flask.

best drops (reasonably accurate/up to date): 1x Elysian Sigil (LS), 1x Arcane Sigil (cs), 4x Armadyl Hilt (solo at 100m, 100m, 50m, and 5m), 2x Saradomin Hilt (solo at 25m), 5x Draconic Visage (34m,1.2m,1.2m) and various cs/ls/ffa Nex splits.
Drygore Drops: 7 Longswords, 3 Maces, 3 Rapiers, 3 Off-hand Rapiers,  5 Off-hand Maces, 3 Off-hand Longswords

ROTS Shields: 12  Seismics: 16

Ascension Crossbows: 6  Spider Legs: 10

Countless Armadyl armour pieces, Saradomin amulets, Dragon Hatchets, and Fremenik Rings.

Those are some very special terms required indeed. The nex gear I can't afford for a good while, but what is a "healvoker"? We just used one person with a shield to provoke and block the 1-hit-ko ability. Is a healvoker one who uses lunar magic to heal the rest of the team, or am I just missing out on something? :P

I believe the Group Heal spell is 'free' if used during Barricade, because Barricade blocks the damage you take from casting Heal.

Heal other and heal group are indeed free on barricade, but recall that resonancing kalphite king's one hit attack will bring the voker up to max hp. So you can actually cast heal other, get yourself down to 1 hp, and then resonance to max in 1 hit.

Remember that the opportunity cost of warpriest is a good chunk of agility xp. That alone basically makes it not worth it. It's neat for fashionscaping, though (the Zamorak one, at least).

Wait, isn't Resonance supposed to not heal on special attacks like that? Not that I object, but that seems wrong :P.

@Meredith: Full war-priest is 20k points, which is exactly 8 huge lamps, about 8 hours of agility. In that sense, it's like getting a pair of chaotics (tops). I agree that it's not worth it, but it's not a huge requirement considering that the equipment is zero-risk with decent stats.

that's if you get the helm and cape, easily the most expensive and least useful parts of the set.

and Q, res doesn't heal a lot of special attacks (contain, prison, red bomb, kk dig attack), but I'm pretty sure healing the green attack is an intended mechanic.

Personally I think warpriest is great for questers. Going in blind on day 1 a zero risk set where you can use all 3 combat styles easily will make for a bit little less danger/risk.
