Ring of Wealth Faulty?

Featured Replies

I've noticed that it makes a WORLD of a difference when it comes to high level herbs. I was without a Ring of Wealth for a month or so and at the Chaos Druids collecting herbs. I can identify up to kwuarm and I think in that time, I got maybe one or two.

I finally got around to buying a Ring of Wealth and on my first run, I picked up 7 kwuarm...seems to work for me. As far as increasing dragon drops, I don't think they do. Not from experience, I just don't think they effect the drop rate.

from what many people are saying, there is no way to know an accurite chance with the ring on, out of 100 kills you can have 1 half key without the ring, and another 100 kills with the ring and get no half key (assuming all the other drops are about the same). increased chances by 1-20% can be very un-noticable

although i have a theory that the ring might actually only affect more coin drops, and less item drops

I've never had a rare drop, but i notice a definite improvement in the quality of standard drops using a ring of wealth.

In a little hilltop village they gambled for my clothes

I bargained for salvation and they gave me a lethal dose

I offered up my innocence, I got repaid with scorn

"Come in'', she said, "I'll give you shelter from the storm"

Only time I really noticed the difference is when I was killing Chaos Druids for herbs. With wealth: I could sometimes get 3 Kwuarms per inv. Without: 3/4 of an inv of Guams and Marentills. =\

But I think that the wealth actually lowers the drop rate of a rare item, and makes average items drop more. So I think that at FG's, for example (and with the same number of giants), you'd get 5k fire with wealth, and 2 half key + 3k fires without wealth.

Here is how the drop system and the ROW works, as told by Mark and Paul (Anarith and I saw them once while questing and got a lesson!)

Ok, imagine a roulette wheel. On this wheel are say 100 sections. Maybe there are 40 coins sections, 20 tinderbox sections, etc...and 1 rare section.

If you luckily get that 1/100 drop, you are now directed towards the rare wheel. It functions in exactly the same way. Say there are 100 slots. 30 are sapphires, 20 are emeralds, 10 are rubies, 5 are diamonds, 5 are half keys, 20 are large coins (example) and the final slot is a dragon item.

Basically, all a Ring of Wealth does is increase your odds of getting the rare wheel by 20%. If you get lots of sapphires, that is your ring working.

So, you are getting rare drops, just not the ones you want. That is out of your hands.

(the slots above do not add up, I know. They are just for example.

I SURVIVED THE 111 BUG

If a turtle doesnt have a shell, is it naked or homeless ?

I'm also beginning to doubt if it works. One of my goal's for awhile ahs been to get full white/gold mystic from drops( yes im a cheap skate and don't want to pay for it, besides it makes me feel better to actually get the drop). Well I got the Hat from basilisks afte ri kill about 100 of them. I then decide to go to the easiest monstes (rockslugs) and try getting the gloves. I'm telling you right now that i bought 2k saltbags and used everyone, and have yet to get a white/gold mytsic glove drop. I have currently put this goal on delay, or maybe i Should go try and get the gloves from the desert lizards. Oh, well the point of this is that i always wear a ROW. So i guess my luck is just that bad.

i hope this makes u feel better....

Thats really not that bad though... its pretty normal. I'd say.

I use to get them mainly as well. I think I got one Rune Square Shield as well. Everything else was key halves, rune scimmies, and rune arrows (as "good" drops).

Never once a Dragon Drop, although I'm assuming I came close that one time I got the Rune Square (you rarely ever hear of people getting that drop often, or at least I haven't).

Slightly Different to what I said, but the same basis. Random number generated from 0-100 are all given an item assosiated with them, instead of the rare items been in this, there is a section called "rare" which will then Generate another number 0-100 and you get the "rare" item.

Basicly the same as what I said, except that the rare items are in a totally different section.

Just my experience with the rings.

(ring of wealth)Monday at Abyssals- 4 Full keys, 3 Abyssals Whips, a dragon med

(warrior ring)Tuesday, Wednesday, and most of thursday- just 1-2 full keys

(ring of wealth)Late Thursday early friday- 2 whips.

No, we are saying the same thing.

The random seed 1-100 (first roll/wheel) has one spot on it with a rare drop. If you get the rare section, you move to the second roll/wheel 1-100, which chooses whether you get a sapphire or a dragon item.

Yeah, I said we were saying the same thing I just posted how I thought it worked earlier in the topic and didn't know there was a "rare" real :P
