You're just simply a victim of bad luck. Is all.

The chances are improved very slightly, if it had noticeably improved chances then it would be have to be made much more rare than it already is and not worth just 90k. For something that's worth just 90 it's very useful even if the chances are very slight.

I did notice that when wearing a ring of wealth at Salarin I got on average 2 sinister keys per trip as apposed to 1 sinister key per trip without.

99 Magic, 99 Defence, 99 Strength, 99 Attack, 99 Hitpoints, 99 Fletching, 99 Woodcutting, 99 Firemaking, 99 Thieving, 99 Ranged, 99 Prayer, 99 Cooking, 99 Fishing

IMO, there is no way to prove that it works, but because of my paranoia, i wear one for fear that if i didnt wear it, i would feel like i was getting way worse drops.

They improve but not worth the cash you spend on them.

Lol, thats accurate enough.

Your gonna have to use one for a bit longer than two days before you get anything back from it, its not exactly a rare-super-thing that will turn you into a millionaire overnight.

Perhaps it should be renamed as the ring of slightly-better-chance-of-a-few-more-gp-per-drop. Has a catchy name dontcha think?

I think the concern was that they only got fire runes as a drop (that being the best I should say).

Usually... when I was down there... I would at LEAST get a half key or a Rune item every trip or every other trip.

So they have every reason to be concerned. Its just simply bad luck though.

bad luck, or the ring doesnt work?

well i always wear my ring of wealth like 99% of the time so far, from slayer ive had

5 black mystic bottums 1 white bottum

1 blk mystic top

16 rune helmets(gargs + abbernats)

9 addy boots

1 g maul

but ive never had a mystic glove drop EVER, ive killed like 3k banshees and nothing.

i believe if i didnt wear this ring, i would get worse drops, maybe ill take it off on a gargoyle assignment

Ok, so i've been killing fire giants for 2 days now, with my Ring of Wealth on. So far, my best drop has been 150 fire runes. I know the ring only inreases chance of getting good drops by 20%, but surely i should of had a good drop by now.

Just keep pounding dem giants, bad luck doesn't last forever...

because variables in a formula can really be faulty? its the same with glitched stats. The whole game relies on mathematical principals and variables increasing over a set scale. That means unless an input or output is mis-typed it cannot be faulty or wrong.

i wear ring of wealth and i got plenty of rare drops ...but then again i once whent to queen no ring and got my first dragon chain

All I can say is that when I calmed down after a dragon medium helmet was laying on the floor from a nice fire giant I checked and I had forgot to bring my ring of wealth on that trip. That was when drag meds were scarce and worth around 2.6 mil. I've still got it though.

For things like fire runes, they'd have the drop something like 3,000\15,000, while wearing wealth, it'd make it something like 3,000\10,000.

Example anyways.

Something like D Med, it'd be say 1\1,000, wealth would make it 1\500

The wealth temporarily deletes some of the drops, that's what I think anyways. :?

I however, use Warrior ring for training on weak things like giants, but I use wealth for killing high lvl monsters for money.

In my experience its better to not use wealth, put something more useful there... like a archer ring if ur ranging :D

I ranged FG's for like over a month to go from 72 - 90 range and i found that sure wealth may bring up some drops ( drag med, spear and half ) but it drops some important money makers ( especially rune arrows )

I ditched that ring for the Ring of Charos ever since Garden of Tranquility came out... :?

I came here expecting a "I kil 3 dust dvil n nu gt chin, ring r brok"

I was dissapointed :(

This is how I think the runescape item drop code works.

You "Randomly" generate a number, say this number can be ANYWHERE from 0 to 100.

20 coins are if "x" is 0-20

5 fire runes is if "x" is 21-25

Nothing is 26-35 etc.

And then the rare drops would be "x" = 99.999976-99.999980 (You get the idea) While a commong drop would be 95-99.999975 etc.

Now, what I believe ring of wealth does, if worn adds a certain number to "x" It'd be around one or two, or mayb even something like 0.5

So say you "roll" 19 without ring of wealth, you'd get coins, but with Ring of Wealth You'd get (19+2=21) 5 Fire runes instead.

Now, all the Common items are at the bottom numbers, the rare ones being towards the top, this would mean you'd have a better chance of getting the "Rare" drops as It'd push it towards that end, but wouldn't make it guarenteed that you'd get it, just make it more likely.

Anyway, That's how I'd make it work if I was told to program a "Drop" system (Which I have done, and it works basicly like that)

Ya, I've had times when I've doubted wether or not it works too, but whenever i forget it, I do notice the difference.

Look, if your mom still drops you off at school, you ain't gangsta, pull up your damn pants!

3 down, 7 to go

ring only increases the chance of getting a drop that isnt coins.. not a "rare drop"....

I had 130 Fire Giants for slayer a couple weeks ago and when I finished it I had a total of 6 rune scimmys 2 rune sq's 500 rune arrows 3k fire runes and tons of gp. Then I got FG's again the other day and in like 160 I got absolutely nothing but like 1k fire runes wearing the ring both times. Oh well I think its all luck based anyway xD

When I was doing slayer my task was to kill 150 something fire giants... well I went down to the brimhaven dungeon (ring of wealth on) and killed you guessed it 150. Out of that trip I got at least 10 fire battlestaves, 3 or 4 rannar weeds and abit of runes which in total could equal quite abit. Now guessing I had not had my ring of wealth on I most likely would of gotten less.

I think its just bad luck and good luck overall with the ring of wealth improving your chances. You may not see it working but if its there then its truly working.

You could think of it this way, say by random the chances of getting a dragon chainbody from the kq is estimate 1/200.... now would you feel better if the ring of life extended your chances to 10/200? (The estimate is just an example, not ture statistics)

foreverforher.gif

Just test it for yourself.

Wear a Ring of Wealth. Kill about 1k of somthing add up the drops, and the nothings if any depending what you kill. Then just don't wear it and kill 1k more of the same guys.

cyco_1.jpg

they work for me....you might just be on a cold streak, it seems like when you get a drag drop you get another one right away....just keep at it :D :D :D
