Weapon Poison

Featured Replies

Where is it worth while to use weapon poison? Is it worth it to use the higher tiers? And is QBD immune to it?

Back when I played it was worth it to use it on literally anything that could be poisoned and took more than like 2 hits to kill. If it was updated in the last year or so, then you'll have to do the math on your own

Iirc the potions all have the same strength and accuracy, but they last different amounts of time. Usually the lowest level one is the most cost effective

It would technically be best to use weapon poison on anything that isn't immune to poison, but the fact that much of the stuff that isn't immune gets 2-4 hit anyway meaning that it usually won't even do poison damage before they die. QBD is immune to poison (just look on the wiki to see what is/isn't immune). The best use for weapon poison by far is PvP.

“I had a feeling we weren’t coming back from this fight when it began.”

“Do you have any regrets?”

“I don’t. It seems surprising, I know, but I wouldn’t change a thing. This is how it was meant to be.”

“Huh, you never really notice how lovely the day is until you realize you’ll never see it again.”

“Mmmhmm.”

Few things off the top of my head that I can think are good to use poison on...

- anything with more than 10k health.. celestials, kalgerions, aruit, nihil..

- corp beast (actually takes damage from poison!!)

- anything you do not have 100% accuracy on

Its probably worth using on anything that can be poisoned and has worth in killing.

It allows you to move on without finishing your kills so the poison can finish them off.

For example you kill 20 monsters in the time you use up one poison + dose

and the poison activates once on each monster, dealing 300 damage on each activation.

for the price of 807, you've done 6k damage.

Of course, poison tends to do more than that and you tend to kill more than 20 monsters in 5 minutes

Airuts, Kal'gerions, Glacors, Automatons, Legios, and Ganodermics are all poison immune.

So really the only things that they would be good for would be Tormented Demons, Eddimus, Celestial Dragons, and Nihils. Everything else isn't worth killing or dies too fast anyway.

Rs wiki is incorrect for some of those.

Airuts and Kalgerions can be poisoned.

Poison should be used everywhere.

You can poison Elves and the poison persists after they revive. :^)

Not sure if that was fixed tho, I stopped using weapon poison on anything a while ago.

Well I urge you to go collect a thousand nightshades yourself.

Regular or + don't require the nightshade, and are just as potent now (they last shorter than ++ but otherwise, not much difference).

My blog here if you want to check out my Times articles and other writings! I always appreciate comments/feedback.

Weapon poison lasts 2.5 minutes.

+ lasts 5 minutes.

++ lasts 10 minutes.

Assuming they are all of the same strength, weapon poison is the most cost-efficient to use.

But normal weapon poison takes up a heckload of space.

And you have to drink it quite often.

if you have a yak or something that's fine, but it'd look strange.

I think most people (or maybe just me) use the + version, it times well with other potions so you drink them together

I use Weapon poison at Kalphite Queen, Corporeal, DKS, Fight Kiln and Edimmu.

Exceptionally useful wherever possible.

I use ++ variant since I've usually more need for inventory rather than a few more GP, I tried using the regular variety but the 2 mins timer p'd me off. No regrets.

Interesting thank you all for your input. Fortunately the + version isn't terrible to make on Ironman while ++ isn't fun.
