March 2, 200620 yr does anyone got other loot other than leaves out of the 2 kinds of baby tanglefoot? they are a pain to kill, but yet drop nothing good... may be they drop d axe?' Most likely not :P I'd rather die for what I believe in than live for anything else.Name Removed by Administrator ~Turtlefemm
March 2, 200620 yr this gives me an average of 6.9 herbs per plot while using secateurs. Well, then we definatly can't say that the Magic Secateurs are increasing the average crop yeild. From your data it looks like it may even be decreasing it! :(
March 2, 200620 yr I didnt memorize the exact words in quest, or what Martin said afterwards, but I have a faint memory of them speaking of "vegetables". Could it be that the secateurs increase yield in allotment patches only? I am just speculating here, but what do the rest of you think? Also, would be nice if someone who has not yet done the quest can check exactly what is said in the quest dialogues with Martin (and other farmers). Please think before you ask a question. If you ask the right question, its much more likely you get the answer you are looking for :)
March 2, 200620 yr I'll tell you what they CAN'T do, prune diseased trees!!! I lost a Curry tree cuz I used my only secatures to make magic ones, and by the time I bought a new pair and returned, dead tree. You only get one chance to live your life....But, endless opportunities to screw it up. Pio "But your honor, he deserved killin "Judge " Fair nuff, the defendant is free to go"

March 2, 200620 yr OT, I know, but you should never grow a tree without paying the farmer to watch it. Check out this cool browser gladiator game!
March 2, 200620 yr there use is to reduce the rate of your crops from gaining disease Do you have official confirmation for this statement, or is this just your guess?
March 2, 200620 yr someone said it on the runescape forums The Complete MTA Handbook | Runecrafting Pouch Analysis | Mobilizing Armies Locator Index
March 3, 200620 yr someone said it on the runescape forumsSorry for doubting you, but that proves nothing. Now, if it were an official Jagex mod I might believe them. People lie about all sorts of things, there is nothing stopping this from being on of them. To be 100% honest with you I think that is exactly what the magic secatuers do. We will just never know beyond a shadow of a doubt unless a mod confirms it or we have tons of data that can statistically prove it.
March 3, 200620 yr As luck would have it, I've been tracking my watermelon and snapdragon farming. Here are the results, using supercompost and WIELDING the magic secateurs when I harvest crops on the second part. ~~Without Magic Secateurs ~~ note - even as level raised, there's little to no difference in results 2826 Watermelons, 200 plots, 14.1 per plot 512 Snapdragons, 74 plots, 6.9 per plot No watermelons died, 6 out of 80 snaps died ~~With Magic Secateurs~~ 1301 Watermelons, 80 plots, 16.3 per plot 255 Snapdragons, 35 plots, 7.3 per plot No watermelons died, 5 out of 40 snaps died ~~Overall Improvement~~ Watermelons - 2.13 per patch - +15% Snapdragons - 0.37 per patch - +5% ------------------------------ I think the dying on the final test was a string of bad luck. The yield though is showing higher averages. March 3, 200620 yr That's some good work nuke, almost makes me want to get back to farming........maybe later :D I have been having bad luck with my ranaar plants, I would say my last 10 plants have died. I was using super compost and tried to watch them but always seemed to be called away (usually work related  ) and when I logged back on it was dead  Eventually I'll get back to it..............
March 3, 200620 yr I don't even bother watching the plots. Just plant them and move on. The herbs don't die enough to worry about it. Watermelons NEVER die so long as you have Nasurtiums grown in the middle and use supercompost. Herbs die occasionally, but if you're getting 6-7 herbs on average you usually make a profit when you sell them to buy more herb seeds.
