dutycalls5609
I thought that it stinks you can only message online people. You might have something urgent that needs to be written so you don't forget. So I thought, "How about a post office?" Before you say, "how silly," consider this: You have a post office in every major city. You buy parchment for 10gp each at a general store, type the recipient, type the letter, and mail it. The person logs in, picks up their mail on an email-like interface, and reads it. If you agree with my idea, refer Jagex to this thread by copying and pasting the URL into a message with something like: here is a suggestion for runescape. (You'd send it via contact from the rs mainpage, duh.) Also please PM me feedback on my idea via this forum system. Thanks and have a nice day, the_dude5609. If you believe you came from monkeys, you probably did.
Uula
Sounds too realistic  The only person I've ever written a letter to irl, is Sana Claus. Seriously. I'd like it more like the forum PM's
dutycalls5609
Overlooking the fact that Santa doesn't exist, realism is what you want in a good game. Something that makes you feel like you're living in rs. BTW, they had postal services back then. The PS was invented in ancient times. If you believe you came from monkeys, you probably did. Santa DOES exist in Finland, many kids 3-7 years old here send a letter to him before christmas... then he reads some of them on live TV. Pretty cool huh? RaScape
I would like RuneScape even more if they considered this idea. Realism in a game is a good thing to have. If this idea becomes a part of RuneScape, they better not make the postal service be ran by Gnomes...they..better not.

It would be cool if those Elves that gave the quest starting letter sent mail but then again elves are busy as well. So it would be better if human npc's ran the postal services...or npc human mages that teleports to you nd gives you the letter. Please not gnomes=(. imaerehw14
would this be used like a buddy list? would the block feature still work? can you add more people like you can with the friends list? what happens when zezima logs on and gets "You have 736788217943 new letters." i think you need to rewrite your first post, but theoretically it sound really cool. Guest AshKaYu
Dust, not funny -.- They have a friends only choice for Pub Chat, Priv Chat and Trading. Why not the postal office?
dre011
this is a really great idea...but i think the posts should go to your message centre...jagex never sends anyone things anyways unless ur a no good punk who likes to report every single little thing so there would actually be use for them. Really who here has received more than 5 messages from Jagex? No one! Not even Zezima who would probably have a little less messages than 7658413545 X 8 because they would probably put a max of like 100 messages in your inbox like the friends list (or 200 in ur member but that would b dumb). Antoher thing. This will probably be really hyped up for a week than slowly die away but... but! since Jagex is so keen on supporting its pro-clan policy (with the wildy capes and all) this would be a major boost...i would use it within my clan for sure... dutycalls5609
Yay! I got so much good feedback. Yes they should have a block feature and a friends only if they did do this. So, how many of you actually recommended it to Jagex? PS- I think it should be run by lesser and greater demons. Imagine this: You: "Do I have any new mail?" Greater Demon (GD): "Yes, you do." You: "Can I have it?" GD: "No." You: "Why not?" GD: "Why? I'm going to kill you!" You: "AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!" GD: "Ha-ha! You fell for that! I gave that up a long time ago. Got a mage stuck in my teeth. It took forever to remove. I quit cold turkey then and there. Here's your mail." You: "Erm...Thanks?" GD: "You're welcome. See you later." If you believe you came from monkeys, you probably did.

lunareklipse
they dont even need to get elborate and put in a post off and all of that stuff. if you could simply send someone an offline message and when they log in, it will be on there chat box. that would be great, alot of mmorpgs have this. RS name- Lunar3klipse, banned 3-16-06: found out theres a new appeal system, I get an extra appeal, fingers crossed. BTW: Ill give someone a serious dollar, if I can use more than 30kb for a sig size :/ its my hosting for crying out-loud.
chilewile007
Yeah, but then jagex would have to say that the don't send messages through the post office.
aoe325
I agree whith the first idea of the tread< BUT it wont EVER happen Y? Needs too much bandwich, too much server space Not enought space = new server space = Bigger costs = More ads and P2p paying more $$ Quest cape obtained at combat level 83, march 07.
