Why not? [Rule 5-8]

Note this is a different post than my last, this covers something different and deserves it's own post. (it would be a lot to cover all the rules in one post!)

=Rule 5 - Jagex Staff Impersonation

You should not attempt to impersonate Jagex staff in any way.

=Rule 6 - Account Sharing/Trading

Each account should only be used by ONE person.

=Rule 7 - Macroing

You must not use other programs to gain an unfair advantage at the game.

=Rule 8 - Multiple Logging-In

If you create more than one RuneScape account, they must not interact.

Rule 5- I can see why this is wrong, and it should be a rule, but as a note you have to be pretty stupid to fall for a impersonator on RS....

Rule 6- This is really a "don't buy, sell, or give away accounts" rule. Runescape is for fun, not money, so I kind of like this rule

Rule 7- I can see why. I don't want someone that didn't work for it to get lots of money. The rule is to make things fair.

Rule 8- Questionable.

If they aren't on at the same time, why can't you trade between accounts?

Why not?

What's the harm?

All the other rules that I've covered so far are backed with reasoning, but this rule isn't. The part about not having multiple on at the same time is good, but the trading between them just doesn't make sense.

Why not?

Also,

My brother and I both play from our own accounts in our house. Is it all right if we trade items?

Yes, this is not going against the rules of conduct providing you are both playing from two separate accounts created by each of you.

So why have so many been banned because of this??

The Jagex staff and Marcoing are the ones I agree with. A new player can easily fall for a trap with some guy (wearing a phat, barrows armor) who tells them "I'm Jagex staff, blah blah,"

Marcoing, we already know.

Rule 8 also questions me. It's all YOUR work, so why?

Dude, how does this deserve it's own post when its the same topic about rules, it certainly wouldn't ibe too long if you merge the two.

A) It's a different topic

B) Dicussing two things on one thread is very confusing

C) There will be more, I'm not done yet.

A) How are JaGex's rules a different topic?

B)They are the same thing

C)Put extra stuff on the same topic

Why not just make a topic for every rule?

Because most of them I agree with. The one's that I don't agree with I discuss. I mentioned the others so people could see my opinion on them and hopefully see that those one's are fine.

Now if we could get on-topic again?

The rolling eyes implies sarcasm. In fact I'm surprised you answered the sarcastic question instead of the real one. You still haven't given a decent reason why made another topic for the continuation of the your other topic. Once you've given me a decent response I'll get back on topic.

Oh and guess what? Multi loggin hurts people. If there was no rule against it then people could have as many pure skill accounts going fishing or whatever since you only need to click once and wait. The way they try to detect multiloggers is wrong.

Sorry for not getting the sarcam.

I already told you the reason, because I'm discussing a different rule(s) with different ideas.

And it's more so the mods and admins decision whether the post is the same or different (which it is different)

Now will you stop spamming my thread?!

I guess my multilogging bit in my above post wasn't on topic enough? :?

The way I see your two topics go is.

The first half of rules

Then follows your opinon on them

Then! NEW! TOPIC!

Second half of the rules

Your opinon on them

Of course your reasoning would be they are different rules, but then again aren't the rules in the first half different from eachother?

"I mentioned the others so people could see my opinion on them and hopefully see that those one's are fine."

Then why didn't you include the rest of the rules after 8?

I think not mentioning would make people assume that you're fine with them.

I'm not arguing with you anymore, I'll wait and see what happens.

I'll be waiting for the topic WHY NOT (RULES 9-15)

Its obvious when you see pures, with a ranger set, phats, and lots of nats and bows to alch, With out a stat to back it up (which most do not have) How else would he/she would of gotten those items? besides 2 of their own accounts interacting with each other, I dont know how you cannot be banned like this with out having "proof", I had a friend who was banned 2 days ago for account sharing, then they changed it to real world trading, They said he real world traded because I let him borrow 3m on his pure and besides have any other proof thats the only thing they came up with.

Quit runescape...

I've thought the same thing. I try to hold myself to a high ethical standard. I know that everyone could say that about themselves, but I'm borderline prudish most of the time.

I've got a pretty fine tuned conscience and even when there's not a rule against something, I'll often refrain just because I know it's wrong.

This is the one rule that would have never occured to me if I hadn't read it myself.

It seems to me that as long as the other rules are being followed (macroing for example), playing two accounts just means you'll have two avatars that are only half as good as the avatar of someone who plays only one.

I can see there being a rule against multiple accounts being logged in simultaneously (like having a runner for your miner), but I see absolutely nothing wrong with drop trading.

What keeps me from breaking the other rules is my own sense of fairness.

What keeps me from drop trading with another account is a fear of being banned.

The very day Jagex abandons the drop-trading prohibition is the day they'll get another $5 a month from me.

That's the way I see it, Jagex way of determining if someone is a breaking a rule is faulty leading to wrongful bans and suspensions. then again how many abuse reports do they get each day?

I will get around to the other rules, Jagex can't hid from me and my questions they never asked when they made the rule.

Anyway, I wouldn't care if a lvl like 10 guy had insanly good weapons and whatnot.

If he/she (as in the person) earned that, why does it matter which account it's on?

becouse every other lvl 10 didnt have that advantage, so walking in the wild and getting stomped by a pure who xferred isnt fun.

This game is getting crap becouse new players just starting out dont have a chance becouse higher lvls are too sissy to pk on their mains so they have to go make a lvl 65 with 85 mage and 90 str and pick on players without the benifits of a main.

Only got a few things out of that.

One: "Not all of them have the same advantage" But they all have the same opportunity, they could do the same

Two: "Some person gets owned in the wild" Ummm...stay out of the wild when you're new....

For your first rebutal:

No they cant, you cant just start out and have a main.

For your second rebutal:

You should be able to enjoy the wild at all lvls and not have to worry about some panzy xferring down to his little char couse he gets owned on his main.

actually, I don't think rule #8 has anything to do with giving characters unfair advantages. It's to stop people from having "mules" (characters who can hold more items for them). one advantage of being a members is that you have more bank space, so they limit non-members in hopes that they will be tempted to pay for a membership

(I sort of went off topic of multi-login and referred to trading between 2 accounts of yours but I think you'll get the point) I think number 8 is a stupid rule and could careless if someone brings up the fact that it gives other players unfair advantages. God forbid someone who's successful in runescape decides to make another account weather it be a pure smither or tank mage or what have you, they're having fun doing it. If lower levels don't like that higher levels are making lvl 3s and spoiling them, don't whine about it, go and mine, fish, woodcut, pk, etc, and make a profit and then spoil yourself then maybe they'd understand why they shouldn't whine about it. Just because someone has what you don't doesn't mean you can't have it.

Back to P2p soon!

So world class boxers should enter the minor leagues and beat the crap out of every one?

For the account trading thing, I see where you're coming from mate. I understand about you and your brother wanting to swap items in RS. But from Jagex view, it is a easy way to illegally give another account items.
