Anybody think that psycroptic or decrepit birth help with fishing? I'm looking for people who ACTUALLY know what their talking about with regards to music, not crybaby 13 year olds with big fringes, tight jeans, and trivium tatoos. I'm a deathmetal drummer, so if your into playing deathmetal too then your conversation would be even more appreciated. I use a pearl export select 6 piece. I've not heard the new cannibal corpse album, but to be honest im into more extreme death metal, you guys listen to necrophagist or psycroptic? I like lamb of god though :oops: K, (death) bands i like: Behemoth Berzerker :) Bloodbath :) Cryptopsy Death (wearing my death hoodie now) Deicide F***, i'm dead Kataklysm (Havn't heard much apart from their latest) Necrophagist (sometimes) Vader Cattle decapiation I have a few more i dont listen to as much. And yeah it's nice to know you don't consider cannibal corpse heavy, it's funny how many people think they're like the heaviest band in the world. Not really into psycroptic myself though. I mean I was listening to some Black Metal the other day, like Cannibal Corpse and Mortician and I had not a clue what they were saying. That was untill I read the lyric of this one song which was something similar to reading about a car accident... And it was talking about a family being mutilated across the streets. But let me ask you this, are the lyrics to a deathmetal song more offensive than some of the stuff kids see on video games these days (a la grand theft auto)? Especially when you consider that someone would have to actually LOOK UP the lyrics to even be offended in the first place! As for the growling, it's just what suits the music, thats what the feel of it is, singing just wouldn't cut it. But the main point is that the vocals only make up a quarter of the band, and in deathmetal you'll find almost always that the other musicians are amongst the best in any genre. And if you listen to cannibal corpse and mortician of course your going to have terrible lyrics. Check death, berzerker, kataklysm heaps i cant remember right now, they have great lyrics. I'm pretty sure the gore thing is just when they dont care at all. I can understand a bit of the lyrics on a few bands. Btw best death metal singer imo: Bloodbath's singers. Personally I'm not big on the vocals, but thats mainly because i'm a drummer and i spend most of my time listening to the drums. But I'd prefer that style of singing over any other style for that type of music, nothing else would fit as well. I know quite a few people who are well into death metal lyrics, I can't deny that some of them are a bit 'odd', but really, some of the time signatures that a good death metal vocalist will use are amazing.
