Megadedhed is correct in what he is saying. however, members of the Church of Satan, the most organized Satanic group, reject this common association, as they do not actually believe in a being called "Satan", and use his name only as a symbolic allusion to certain materialistic and individualistic values. The voice of a death metal band (I feel) should be loud and rarely present, not shouting in a deep voice all the time. May 10, 200620 yr Yes, im into dm too but unfortunately I dont play rs anymore. My last.fm profile gives the idea what kind of bands I prefer. I hate metal. Or anything that comes close to it. I care too much for the actual vocals and lyrics. Eh, I understand the vocals wont suit for everyone but lyrics ? A lot of metal lyrics consist of themes like politics, spirituality, society and philosophy. Maby your idea of actual lyrics is about how hard it is to get a woman and cry about it while playing 3 different chords. :| No offence, but I just hate to see people putting down something they dont have a clue about.
May 10, 200620 yr Death metal takes all of MY anger and says it ot my ears, usually making me feel refreshed and happy. Its like a punching bag sort of... I don't see how the "Lyrics" of death metal can disturb you when bands like Hawthorne Heights are spilling out lyrics about cutting themselves in a public bathroom. Anyone who completely disses death metal or any type of metal has obviously no found the right band for them. If you can't stand the lyrics/voices, listen to Iced Earth. They are a GREAT band and have sort-of death influences riddled throuought their music. The best part is that they still have the Zepplin-esque voice we all love and agree with. If yo seem to like that then start expiramenting with bands. just don't completely hate on a genre because you've never been exposed to it, because in this case ignorance is not bliss.
