NHL Playoffs

Featured Replies

Who do you hope does well? Any predictions?

I'm guessing either Ottawa vs. San Jose for the cup, or Ottawa vs. Calgary for the cup.

Of course the playoffs won't be as exciting without goals like this from our rookie sensations

But oh well! I'm pumped for 'em, anyone else?

Well, I'd hope it was Philadelphia, but I wouldn't bet for it. Our goalies have had too many bad days this year and we've had too many injuries. If I had to bet, I'd bet Dallas.

Is it because they're full of Finnish players? :P

Just joking, Turco's got alot to prove though.

Detroit, New Jersey for the cup. Detroit in 6 :D

I was thinking that Malik's goal with the rangers in the shootout was going to be the best of the season( between the legs). Then again,Ovechkin blew him away.

The problem with the gene pool is that there's no lifeguard.

I hope Flyers will win, not because I'm a big fan of the team, but because of Peter Forsberg my favourite player of all time. Though I don't really see them winning as they haven't had solid goaltending this year. You just can't win the Stanley Cup without a great goalie.

When/if the Flyers are out I'll be rooting for Detroit, mainly because of the large number of swedes on the team. I hope that Zetterberg and Lidstr̮̦̉̉m will be able to carry the team if Legace won't show up.

I havent seen the other teams recently, but I do hope the Cup ends with a Canadian team this year...

Detroit has two championship winning teams this year. This is the year the Wings get Stanley back. :P

They beat Edmonton in double overtime :( I was going for Edmonton, but when you only get half the shots of the opposing team, losing is expected.

summerpngwy6.jpg

Detroit needs a better goaltender. Manny is good, but 2 goals on 22 shots might not take you all the way. They need to trade for a better one in the off season.

Im going for the Wings.

And i dont really think that Ovechkin goal was that nice, it was more second effort than a nice goal. I think his shoot out goals off the cross bar were better. Or Crosbys lift the leg-fake-backhand-top shelf-water bottle knocker.

Flames and Ducks going into overtime.

San Jose all the way.

I know the price. I pay it gladly.

Whoever wins the Rangers/Devils series im hoping to go all the way. Since i'm a Rangers fan and im from Jersey, so if either one of those teams win the cup i'll be happy.

Hahha, true that they got a lot of Finns :P Would be better if they had one less *cought*Janne Niinimaa*cought*. Turco has never played well at playoffs, but now he got his chances. 41 Wins (my brains not working well atm, correct me if I was wrong :P ) wins this season showed his skills tho. Basically they got everything a good team needs; 2 way wingers (i.e. Lehtinen), good scorers (i.e. Modano), good defencemen (Zubov) and so on.

5-2 lost this night, but Colorado has still 3 games to win :P

I hope to see San Jose go far this year but it looks like a tough road ahead for them in Nashville. New Jersey also looks like they will do very strongly this year.

I shall root against the Sharks. I hope they lose so I can shove it in my roommate's and my friend's face. :D

Chris Neil was incredible for Ottawa tonight - I don't think he got a point, but he must have drawn about 40minutes in penalties singlehandedly.

In one play, he said one word to a Tampa Bay player, and the TB guy immediately jumped Neil after the faceoff and was given a 7minute penalty (2 for instigation, and 5 for fighting), and Neil was given nothing.

Ottawa won 8-4, and totally dominated TB all night. Havlat also scored a highlight reeler, I hope it's the highlight of the night on SportsCentre tomorrow morning!

summerpngwy6.jpg

Wow, whats happening to the Tampa Bay Lightning? They're getting so owned that a rookie defencemen is providing more depth and scoring than most of their all-star talent. What's even more shocking is a rookie defencemen (Paul Ranger) thats putting up impressive numbers in the playoffs doesn't even get the time of day on sports networks.

It's true, I noticed his goals during the game (for some reason the last name "Ranger" stuck out to me as a defensemen), and never heard anything about him on the sports shows next morning.

Chara almost mashed up vincent lol
