The New Adjustment to Pest Control...

Waffleh

Recommended Posts

The whole cooperative effort behind pest control is interesting. It provides the best outlet for game-based anti social behavior yet. Sure, in pking you can kill someone and take his stuff. It gets pretty anti social when all the person is doing is using the abyss, or working a clue. That is low-life pking. But, with pest control, the immature brats can spoil it for 24 other people all at once. They have plenty of opportunities. They can kill the south shifter, they can run around opening gates. Lots of opportunities here for someone to express his or her general hate and distaste for the rest of us; denying other players tens of thousands of experience points at a shake.

I like the idea of having events where we work together for a common goal. That has been missing from the game. What we see is that some of the other players we have been trying to avoid are not only boorish, but they themselves are little monsters in the making.

I can imagine some of the comments, either made or thought, by people reading this. ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅWho are you to try to tell the rest of us what to do?̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ

nice update in my opinion, but they should also make it so you can 'use X' point instead of having to talk to the void knights for every single point you want to spend

EDIT: It now recharges your spec bar at the end of every game!!!!, i think this is great, dds spec FTW!!!

man, more like b ax4e specs ftw....b axe spec and use those annyoing 400 restore pots and those 1k attk pots...

You can try to argue that a person̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s behavior in some computer game has no relation to his real-life quality. You can try; but you will not be successful.

Try? No need to try... its a well known fact. There are always exceptions. And your whole entire post there just comes off as an over generalization if you ask me.

In real life I am a whole lot more shy then what I am on these forums. So I guess I'm the only exception? Ask anyone who actually knows me well enough on these forums... and tell them to describe me in one word... and shy wouldn't even be close to one of them.

So try to argue that point? I think I just did... and I believe I was successful... If I am one exception, there are most definitly more.

Your whole post, aside from being an over generalization of human behavior, also seemed like a rant or a post where you were simply venting out of anger. Maybe you should try checking your emotions at the gate. You said it yourself... its just a game. Sure, some people may make a mistake and mess things up for the whole team, but that doesn't mean you should whine about it. They just simply don't care because they know they wont lose any items. Obviously some will be more prone to taking risks if they know they wont get harmed by their actions.

My bro's lvl 64 ('stonekrushr3', donation appreciated as he wants a Dlong really badly, but I can't give him the cash as it will look like multilogging , curse Jagex's banhappy ways ), and I've showed him how to play the game well. He's really good at defense, never kills the south shifter (and often even distacts it too), and attacks any other shifters that harm the Knight. Sadly, his Rune long doesn't cut it for the total damage needed, so even though he's playing like a real team player, Jagex is totally jipping him of the attack experience he needs for Dragon weapons. I'm so ticked at this new update, its totally prejudice against low levels.

And Waffleh, what happened to siggyin' me?

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

I cannot stand the new update, in terms of the 50 damage limit to win. I'm level 79 and constantly fighting to help destroy the portals. I am rarely on a game with low levels (my luck?), and though I usually only get about 9 damage in on a portal before it is wiped, I do help the rest of the team. I just went through 20 games (no kidding), helped with every portal, and got no reward because of this adjustment.

Also, I've noticed less people bothering to protect the Void Knight because many games are over before sufficient monsters come in to attack him. They instead run outside in a frantic attempt to hit this quota, leaving our knight open and easily killed.

Lastly, the people we usually had to help repair gates are no more. They can repair every gate there as many times as they want and still leave with no exp or money reward.

It's truly unfair. Many of us do our part in helping defend the Knight and bringing the portals down, and are denied rewards because we did not stop our defenses to fight off some monsters. Though I understand the need to stop people from gaining rewards with no work, there has to be a better way than this.

I guarantee that if you killed some of the lower levelled monsters, you could rack up 50 damage points in less than two minutes.

Yes. You can rack up the 50 damage points u need by killing the low lvls. But because of this requirement, no one wants to do the stuff that doesn't rack up the points gauranteed.

What they should do is add a special support system. By that I mean a system in which you get rewarded based on how well you support the team.

They should also not give it such a static number (such as 50 hits). They should factor in the time of the game in itself. So the shorter the game, the lower the support points you would need. But... the longer the fights go... the higher support points you would need in order to get your reward(s).

I really think they could have done a whole lot better at planning this game. And I know I've probably said that a lot. This was all just poorly pulled off.
