I have a few problems with some of the updates in the game. Yes, I have combat level 55, but do you REALLY think I'm able to do 80 DAMAGE??? I mean, the highest I hit is 9, so I'd have to make 9 shots that were perfect 9s. I don't think I could do it. Really. I'm not the most accurate person.

So I guess this means I won't help kill the portals? Because i only do like, 2 damage on those anyways....

 

 

 

We've also made it so that if more than 25 people board the lander, the people left behind will be given priority in being transported to the island on the next game.

 

 

 

This one I'm happy with! I would get on the lander, get a nice spot in the front, and I'd be left behind for 2 or 3 trips. Not fun.

 

 

 

we are planning to make it so that you can earn that cool looking equipment you may have seen the Void Knights wearing.

 

 

 

Well, I guess that would be OK, but then how will I get prayer exp.? lol I'm kidding.

at your level, you should be helping with the monsters anyway, and 80 damage isnt that much, you have to hit prolly bout 20-30 times to get that, and you can do that in 2 minutes easy.

If Jagex plans on adding armor in exchange for the points obtained when you complete a sucessful run then they need to increase the max allowed points to more then 15. Unless the armor will be cheap to purchase with said points.

I like the update, though I haven't seen that many people below lv 40 combat anyway :) On the other hand, a lot of people with awful armor and weaponry, abundantly :P which annoys me more than a lv 30 trying his best..

If this gets rid of the typical noob with no armour wielding a woodcutting hatchet or mining pickaxe then I'm all for it. :twisted:

50 points isnt hard to obtain, if it were good armor i wouldnt be surprized with 300+ points

 

 

 

*ahem* 80 points, not 50.

 

 

 

O ok... well I'm more of a def person than a str person so I hope you guys are right!

Hmm This will mean that we won't get the lower levels that repair the gate. :(

 

 

 

My thought exactly! That's why people come in with only a hatchet wielded. Their the gate-fixers! Of course, regular people could just bring some logs and a hammer.

I still don't know where people are getting 80. Am I missing something here? Does that 50 really mean 80?

nice update in my opinion, but they should also make it so you can 'use X' point instead of having to talk to the void knights for every single point you want to spend

 

 

 

EDIT: It now recharges your spec bar at the end of every game!!!!, i think this is great, dds spec FTW!!!

Adjustments to Pest Control

 

 

 

We've made some adjustments to the Pest Control minigame we released last week.

 

 

 

Firstly, the game has also been encountering issues where people turned up at the island with no intentions of helping to win, but just to stand around and get the rewards due to the efforts of their teammates. This is clearly not in the spirit of the game, therefore you now need to have dealt at least 80 points of damage over the course of a game to get a reward.

 

 

 

Secondly, we've put in a level 40 combat requirement to board the lander and play the game. Each player in a game of Pest Control increases the number of monsters in the game. As a lot of the monsters are pretty tough, this meant that it was extremely hard for lower level players to contribute enough to the team effort to make up for the added difficulty their presence had created.

 

 

 

We've also made it so that if more than 25 people board the lander, the people left behind will be given priority in being transported to the island on the next game.

 

 

 

We are planning some more changes, most significantly the ability to spend your Void Knight Commendation points on a greater variety of things than just combat xp. Taking a cue from the popularity of decorative armour from Castlewars, we are planning to make it so that you can earn that cool looking equipment you may have seen the Void Knights wearing.

 

 

 

 

When i said points i meant void knight points(which you get after completing a succesful game)

The change I would like to see is a requirement that each player hold 10k gp in his inventory to play the game. Every time he/she opens the South gate, 1k would be deducted and divided among all the other players. Open the gate if you will; but pay for it.

Mini-GAME....here the GAME part...it's ment to be fun.

 

 

 

I myself sometimes run upto the gate and randomly open it as 50+ monsters run through after that good looking void knight standing in the centre. I find it funny to watch the slaughter :lol:

 

 

 

 

 

oh and with the money in general who would want to even play it if it costs money to kill the portals A.K.A WIN!

What about the player who use the south gate to get to the 2 portals in the south.....

 

And what about the player who stand infront on the south gate to help reduce the maging and ranging monsters... Are they supposed to go all the way around, just because some dont close it behind them.

 

 

 

Personally i believe jagex shouldnt change the entire mini game because one person dont like it the way it is

Well... personally... I'll just be happy when they finally get the game set up the way they want it. Seems like they can't even get the new rules right without having to amend them.

 

 

 

The whole 50 hits concept is ok, but like others have said... they seem to be neglecting the people who are assigned (or take it upon themselves) to repair the gates. Surely repairing the gates are worth something...

 

 

 

The combat lvl requirement I understand, but it was something that should have been in last week... not added this week. It really isn't fair to the low levels that were there getting exp. Its a change that will probably create a lot of controversy.

 

 

 

I just can't see how some of these additions were overlooked to begin with. They should have used the Castle Wars mini game as a learning experience. They're pretty much making the same mistakes with this Pest Control game as they did with the Castle Wars game.
