Runescape- I'll never be the same. Long

Recommended Posts

It all started in 2003 when one of my best friends that lives 4 houses down introduced me to what seemed like just any other computer game. Semi-good graphics but nothing especially intrueging. On that day in November Mexican5.0 was created. I thought nothing of the game for months untill boredom caught the better of me and i gave it a try. I wondered what kept my friend on the game for hour after hour, and i can remember calling him a loser for it .

But it seemed we shared the same fate, as i too, was destined for RuneScape! I wasnt to addicted at first because we all know how it is to start out, your poor, no on likes you, you have an ego the size of your bronze short sword. At first RuneScape was so fun, but in my later years it wasnt so, ill get to that later. Then i entered my experienced playing period, i learned how to smith and what not, and made decent money for a lvl 40 or so. And around lvl 50 i owned my first full set of rune, what a feeling eh? 8) And then i started to train, man did i have big dreams, went from lvl 50 to around 64 before the beta was released. I also went through my clan period, i was in The UCR-United Clans of RuneScape- lol to you good sir. I was really excited for the beta to be released for the game i already was in love with. It seemed for me my RuneScape romance hit another level when RS2 came out. Other then the fact that the R2H's sucked, it was a fantasy land. It felt like a totally different game! It seems i was a victim of the technology age. At this point i trained for awhile on the amazing Lesser Demons.

After a few rune "meds" i decided it was time i got...waittttt....MEMBERS! Oh man the deals i made with my parents to get me that... Then i wielded my first dragon long after an extensive tour of the members world, i can tell you one thing, after i got members i was stuck to the computer that first weekend like glue. So much to do! A classic moment for me is when i was training for 60 att in members on lessers and a lvl 50 was selling a dragon shield, well of course i flamed him for lieng and who would of thought that it actually wasnt an anti-breath shield? Well another guy there bought it for 1m, and i think they were about 10m back then.

Ahh this brings us to the WoodCutting stage! Who doesnt experience this one? Purchased my first set of full Guthix after a summers worth of woodcutting, friend scammed it off me. :( Well i have to shorten this up for health code reasons  , so ill get to the point. When i started runescape i thought it was an amazing awsome game, great community, great fun. In my later years ive noticed i dont have as much, if any at all, fun. I dont know if its because if lost 30M to scams (my own fault im not whining) or the community. But i think runescape has changed me, im not as wild and crazy, i sure as hell can type like 500 words a minute (h). My main point is that i think RuneScape is like life, when you first start out theres so much to experience, and it seems like the adventure will never end. Then you enter your working stage to actually acomplish your "chilidhood/noob" dreams of being rich and famous like the infamous and some what elusive Zezima. But after that you mess around with your money for awhile and you basically enter, well, the old people stage. Thats where im at now, and like life, RuneScape just...dies on you.

I would also like to add that i think scammers are the equivelant of global warming. There bringing the community down. In time RuneScape will be, just any other computer game.

P.S. thank you to all that have actually taken the time to read my whole story.

You have obviously thought everything out. I have to say i havent read anythign this good for a long time. I like the contrast, the way you interpret and compare things, its inspiring to look at my Rs life actually. Althought mine has a lot of twists and turns it has its own charm.

But sometimes i look at the updates that Jagex is making and i just dont think its ... good enought. The way my rs life will die - is by me loosing the interrest.

Thank you for sharing :)

Ive quit three times before and come back every time lol. But this time i dont think so, even with new items and quests coming out that will be fun for what a month? It wont change the community either, ive lost to much on this game already. :?

RS community replects real life, due to people playing :wall: . Its nevere gona be changed and there is no point in running away from something thats not chsing after you. Just take a grater care of yourself int he game.

I see what you mean, but like what's been said, the new updates really bring it back (and I'm not quite burned out of training yet :) )

Combat 116+; Total 1900+; All Hard Tasks; (Nearly) All quest points; (Nearly) All skills 60+; An aquatic moose ninja.

Currently: Using 63 hunter to get some of those "Chins", then I'm going to range stuff down. Interruptions of agility when I feel like it, as well.

And lucky enough to get 4 Dragon and 6 Barrow Drops.

[hide]Kwimbob now looks exactly like me in real life except for hair color. Yes, this means I look exactly like the protagonist of that certain anime that my second character, Faye_V is also named after. Yes, I bought a jacket that also looks like his. No in real life I don't have a slain bear to sling over my shoulders. Yes, I'm that skinny even if I no-life it for years in basements. No, I can't shoot a gun. Yes, I can win any other strategic video game you have never played - because I probably have, ahahaha. And yes, I also have brown eyes, yet one of my eyes looks different from the other. And yes, I'm completely oblivious to the [real] world around me as I constantly engineer new solutions to daily problems in my head. When I get hungry, all that isn't food can wait. When I'm sleepy - nothing is of any priority in front of sleep. But at any other time, I never slow down. Never give up. Never Surrender. Makes for a good life.

I can relate to everything you said, when i was just starting out i felt the same way too. And i always said iw ill become the best player the game has seen, it never even crossed my mind until months, perhaps a year had gone by, when i realised it would not happen. Good story.

That relates to me a lot. I remeber in my lvl 5 days I mine tin and copper in Varrock, then furnaced it in Falador (no idea what was Al-Karid). Then I did it again as a lvl 73, (I'm 77 now) WAY different.
