Alright heres the way i look at it.

 

 

 

legends- you get the most for your money. Its not all that off from obby and you save 299k which is nice. If you can afford obby go ahead but id prefer to save 299k

 

 

 

obby: better than legends but not quite worth what you pay for it. I agree legends cape isnt as good as obby but come on...299k for a peice of cloth(thats what capes are made of)

 

 

 

IF you examine the obby cape it says its woven out of obsidean peices. not cloth. :D

I have enough money for obby cape, heck i could buy numerous amounts of obby capes, but i wear legends, not because im to lazy or can't afford 300k, but because i like legends better, and prefer its looks. Legends cape goes better with my D legs and sara plate then obby.

My culinaromancer gloves already show my accomplishments in quests, so why not to have teh best cape in game (before fire cape)

wow thanks for pointing out the huge difference between starting legend's and completeing it. Sarcasm. If anything Doing recipe for disaster shows your skills a ton more plus the dark gloves don't have a greater set of equipment against it. I bet if there were gloves that came out tomar that costed 5 mill, but were only slightly better than dark gloves, people would still buy them, because the apparent reason, if it's better why not have it?

well ive done legends, and i love obby cape so much more. Its better looking, gives a better stats bonus and people are more impressed by an obby cape.

When it came out, it weighed 0kg (zero) thats why (I think) it got so popular.

 

I still like it way better than Legends cape even though it now weighs 2kg.

Every bit of stats count! I'd rather have "Rune boots, barrows gloves, and an obsidian cape" than "Addy boots, dragon gloves, and legends cape".

Black King, I wouldn't. In buying the cheaper set, you'd save around 300k, which is 50 prayer pots. Let's take these to barrows, assuming you have sufficient runes. 2 prayer pots a trip is 25 trips, which is a fairly high chance of a decent item.

Ya.. I wouldn't get anything. I've gone practically 100 trips without a single item. Almost 4 years without any dragon drops either(best two drops. Lava Battlestaff, and Obsidian Shield).

Whats the stats difference betwen a normal cape and an obby cape eh? Quite a lot. Obby cape of for the people who don't like questing. Yet still deserve a good cape.

The obby cape is probably the worst piece of equipment that is used nearly solely for training for it's price. The reason that it is worn so often is because it is still very cheap. 300k takes the average person less than a day to earn.

 

 

 

Personally the only obby cape that I ever owned was a gift for my b-day. I used it to get the fire cape and sold it. Even if there wasn't a fire cape I would still not use it since I cannot justify the extra ratio of cost vs. value as opposed to, say, a whip. That puppy has earned every cent of the 4.5mil that I paid for it plus WAY more. I respectfully alched all of my legends capes for room and buy another anytime I need one from the guild.

 

 

 

P.S. It looks ugly and screams noob to me, personally. Like wearing mith med helm, CW sword, steel plate, addy kite, green dhide legs, and a strength amulet all at the same time, lol. I think it is the cheapskate in me that hates it so much, hehe.

the first time obby cape came out i bought it from some low level for 200k but i c what yer saying there not that good.

Lazyness is a virtue :P (82 woodcutting, not lazy) but I personally think obby capes look better, thats why I bought one and why I wear it...well that and I havent done legends yet :P

When I first saw it I thought it was just another wildy team cape. I would have to say that you are in the minority, though, when it comes to vs. fire cape and I am probably in the minority when it comes to vs. all other capes.

Are you kidding? Fire cape looks far better than anything in the game, it tells you the person has good levels and knows how to use them, it's also best for everything except magic where god capes are better. I don't think there is anything wrong with the obby cape, however I think they should've made it's stats equal to legends meaning that legends cape is still the best for those who haven't done fight caves.

I'm not really into combat anymore. I just have full drag with legends cape because it looks MUCH better. It's just the fact that you can get the tiniest more ammount of defence, and people will work for it.
