Ok so basically I am rather sick of jagex not strapping down and clearing up my character...

(hmm that souded kinda selfish  not really what i ment lol )

What i am saying is this... jagex continually updates with quests items mini-games and such and never even relises that almost EVERYTHING is blurred in thier game...

It struck me as i was fighing just how rudamentry all of the anatomy in runescape is... Don't know what i'm talking about? go to a crowded work on low detail...

Now I see that jagex is working on their game engine W000ts!!

But will runescape clear up? will i finally get a crystal clear image WITH FREAKING DETAIL on my screen?

Now i will say this... Jagex is doing a better job then they were when i first joined jeeze we just won't talk about those times

Look at this picture below on the right is a chracter head from when i first started playing and the two others are romeo and juliet PROGRESS!!! :P

I would just want your opinion on wether in time runescape will be able to actually become more clear. I understand they are limited in java and for runescape to actually exist is a feat in itself. I'm just wondering if i will ever see my characters lovely face :?

Ehh, I wouldn't expect jagex to update the game to be "more clear" anytime soon. If you really want better graphics *coughandgameplaycough* then go play a game like WoW. Like you said, rs is a java game, which makes it very limited. I'm actually surprised that the game is as good as it is now.

:^_^: I drew that smilie, btw, along with a few more used by this site.

Classic bloodveld for lyph3! Although I do like the new ones.

Like a ninja, here I was, gone I am now.

BUT! I may be back! Add my new account, Dr Bloodveld!

that line kinda says it all. low detail. granted on high detail you still can't see much but its not really that big a deal. Id rather have a smoother game engine than a really laggy bad game with good detail (i.e. Diablo II) You think its bad now I remeber the way it looked back in RS classic.

Does it matter, wouldn't you rather want more useful updates..?

Not saying its not important, but it doesn't matter enough for JaGeX to fix it..Good point though

With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

Java isn't the limiting capability of rs (rs isn't even written in java script anymore, its written in 'rune code'). Because there are java games which have crystal clear graphics and are coded in java. Rs is what it is because its small to download, maybe you can pick up almost any computer on any connection and play. It's one of their selling points.

Stop blaming Java! Runescape's poor art is because Jagex wants the game to load on a webbrowser AND load before we get bored. This is the very reasion why Runescape is so popular, people dont want to download.

I think the charter faces are fine, but look at the kids....It makes me sick everytime i have to talk one, because sometimes their eyes come out of the eybrows etc.... I think they should update that.

I like my characters' face. I think that romeos face looks like as if he's had a face lift gone wrong. And juliets head looks like if its been in a press.

No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.

Whenever someone mentions "Java" or any small attribute of Runescape and call it a "limitation" of Java it always causes quite the stir in the community.

Let's clear up a few things. Runescape IS made in JAVA, not JAVASCRIPT. Javascript is a smaller coding language built for adding interesting dynamic things to a website and works only in browsers. Java is much larger than that and can produce grand scale projects. The Calculators on Tip.it are written in Javascript and not Java, that shows the difference of the uses I hope.

"Rune Script" is not an official code that everyone uses, the lead programmers of Runescape created a pseudo-code to make updating the game easier. I assume there is a script that breaks down the easy to work with code (Rune Script) and compiles it back into Java so all of our computers can work with it. It is not what the game is completely made of.

World of Warcraft is a far superior game because it is written in a different programming langauge (I think C++ but I'm not sure). The developers at World of Warcraft have had years more experience than the team at Jagex and also a far larger source of money to draw from to hire better 3d designers, developers, etc. But the better looks costs more which is why it's 15 dollars a month.

Notice how Jagex has a huge clientele of people who do not even pay for their game. If F2P was gotten rid of and everyone was forced to pay to play the game they would surely increase their graphics and perhaps make it a standalone game (meaning not browser-based). But that would reduce their market greatly. The draw for Runescape to many people is that you can go just about anywhere and log on to your account from any computer with the internet and pick up where you left off. If Jagex really wanted people to be intense hardcore gamers and beat their game in a matter of months (as many people in WoW have done) then they would charge more and increase the game even better.

My final thoughts are if you want to see your characters face go hang out with Bloodveld and play World of Warcraft. It is very unlikely that you will ever see the great detail of your character besides when you're in a dialogue with an NPC. You probably love the game so I'd say stick with it until you get tired of the game.

One last thing, this is a MMORPG, Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. Role Playing Game! You need to imagine these things. It cannot be that only people like myself who have played Dungeons and Dragons can imagine greater things going on in front of you. Care less about what's in front of you and more about the story, that's where the real fun lies.
