Power Leveling Magic

I was wondering the best way to level from 25 to 60 magic. Some p2p advice is alright, but I am really looking for f2p spells right now. I don't mind gettting or not getting hits exp.

Let me know what everyone thinks. I have a few mils to spend but I don't plan on using all of my money right now. Thanks!

Alright I was using some calcs and for the Curse/FB... it is about 420 Curses to 35 Magic (FB), then about 7.3k Fire Bolts to 60 Magic.

Cursing alone to 60 Magic is about 9.15k casts. I actually cursed to 25 magic already. I found it cheap and effective, but I could never find a good training place.

Thank you all for the advice. I am still welcome for more spells and places to train.

Cows are great low-hp kills (and hides are great source of income), also, white knights in the second floor, left-wing (area with the torture room) are pretty good for cursefailing, just keep clicking on them and wearing as much anti-magic armor as you can.

I am a tree.

Thanks for the help that sounds good. So far I am looking at just Cursing my way up to 60 Magic. By the way... what quest do you need to complete for Flames of Zammy, Sara Strike, ect?

Not a quest, you need to do the Mage Arena minigame found in lvl 55 wildy.(the actual arena isn't in arena, just getting there.)

Quit RS, combat 104, total 1651

try the scorpians in the dwarf mines, theres heaps and plenty of rocks to hide behind, not many people train there because they don't drop anything, but they are great if you are looking for pure xp.

I got my magic from 35 to 51 using that method

Thank you UGA and Eggz, I will look into it further.

For now, I am wondering what is the best armour to wear for failing curses. Keep in mind that for now I am f2p and have 40+ attack, 40+ defense, and 1 range.

I think I am pretty stuck on Cursing my way to 60 magic. I am going to look into the prices now of runes. More advice is welcomed, especially dealing with the negative mage bonuses and training areas. Thanks.

Okay I am working all of this out now. I have 7,842 magic exp. (25 Magic). I need 273,742 magic exp. (60 Magic). In total, I need to cast 9,169 Curses to reach 60 Magic.

One cast of Curse uses 3 Earth runes, 2 Water runes, and 2 Body runes. I will be using an Earth Staff, so the Earth runes are no longer need. So, I am going to need 18,338 Water runes and Body Runes. If I can find Water runes for 15gp each, and Body runes for 10gp each, I will spend a total of (275,070 + 183,380 + 1550) = 460,000gp.

I will be wearing full Rune the entire time wielding an Earth Staff. I think that this plan is great... 460k for 25 to 60 Magic. The only thing left is to find a very good training spot. I have seen the earlier post and will consider those, but I am open for more options.

Also, please correct me if any of my pricing or math is wrong. Thanks.

To fail every curse, you must wear dragon vambraces with your armor. If you don't have dragon vambs, curse the Zamorak monk (or mage, I forgot) under the stairs in Varrock castle. He will shake off any curse very quickly.

Have fun! (or try to, at least)

Thanks for the advice. However I can't wear the dragon vamps due to my range level. I will keep in mind the Zammy Monk idea though. Thanks.

.. the full rune should make pretty much every curse fail all the way upto 60. Training my pure from 19-50 wearing full iron, drag vamps I failed about 1 in 150-200 at lvls around 50.

I did it on a quiet world on the lesser demon upstairs in the wizard tower. The only thing that I would say about this method, is that it requires alot of tiresome clicking  . I liked this spot because its a short walk from a bank and Port Sarim mage shop.

A good NPC/training spot is basically any NPC where there is a safe spot and no-one is likely to kill it.

Thanks for your help Night, you are right though, the only problem is finding a quiet world and the annoying clicking.

Piman thank you also for the advice; however, I am not planning on going p2p just yet, so I am still thinking f2p spells.

Thanks, open for more advice.

The Zammy monk in the Varrock castle is simply the best monster to fail curses on in the whole game, you will be able to get lvl 60 mage there fairly quickly. If you get bored, you can fail air strikes on lessers, but that's much more expensive.

I'd go with curse.

I haven't been there in a long time, I'll have to check it out.

Few Questions:

From 25 to 60 Magic, casting Curses, I should fail nearly every spell?

Is there just one monk?

Does he attack you when you fail the Curse on him?

Is there anything to stand behind while Cursing?
