Fishing For the Newbs / Feed the Newbs Foundation

Recommended Posts

I've noticed that often when I am playing runescape, I often see new players come up to me, and ask for food. More often than not, I turn them away.

I've decided to change.

I currently have 2940 feathers I am putting towards the "Feed the Newbs" foundation. This is a non-profit foundation.

Basically all I'm doing is catching trout and salmon, cooking them, then giving them to passing new players for free.

I invite you all to come out and fish with me. World 7 at barbarian village.

Please if you do decide to come, please find me, and shout "HYT!" in green, my rsn is Bestsob, feel free to pm me. I'll be there all day it seems.

Happy fishin'!

well, 1 day, and around 1200 feathers later, dozens of noobs have been fed.

3 people that I know of came by, and that is more that I expected!

Please people, help feed the noobs, as it will resume tomorrow.

This is a really good idea it might have an impact on the game because the people you are giving to might learn to respect everyone in runescape and eve if you help 10 people and only one of those people is nice from then on that is one less annyoing person in runescape. I myself make little begginer packages up when i am going to a f2p for some new players in runescape. i normally give out full iron some gp and some other stuff. Its not much but it might teach them to be nice in the game and to respect everyone.

I'm going to start a rival foundation called 'Don't feed the noobs' because much like seagulls, noobs are vermin.

I've met many noobs I liked and many more I don't. They expect the entire damn playerbase to meet their every need as if they're king of the whole **** but don't want to do any damn work!!! :x

Even their tone makes me angry like when they say 'I need food' as if we all have to care. Or 'need mony', 'need armor', 'give me ur clothes'.

ARGH!!!!

So instead of breastfeeding them til they're level 80 how's abouts we teach them the value of paying their own way and working for money???

Infact, reading this has made me so annoyed I actually am going to start DFTN.

If you are one of those who values working for your own way and not scavenging a living, copy this to your signature. Noobs should learn to work for their stuff, not beg for it.

DON'T. FEED. THE. NOOBS!!

I don't give to the annoying ones. And you're free to start a DFTN foundation.

Do what you like. I only give food to under level 40s. I think it is great fun, and it is good for getting experience and socialising. I will be back tomorrow with more feathers.

Best, I will come and join you sometime, which world are you on? 7?

Anyway, DFTN was locked while I was posting but I want people to hear what I said:

Why do we refer to them as "noobs"? It is not a "bad" word, but it does not mean anything good, either. Refer to them as Low-level'd or LL players. Do you think they like being called 'noob's'? Do you like being called a 'noob'? "But, I am not a 'noob'" you say? Well, maybe some of the people you call 'noob's' aren't either, and you are just calling them that because they are low-level'd.

ON-TOPIC: I saw this posted in my freind Bestsob's post. It says something along the lines of "if you feed ten LL's, and only one out of those ten learn to appreciate and respect other players, it is worth it." Those are not the exact words, but I have to agree. Also, in Bestsob's "Feed the Noobs" campaign (of which I approve the idea, but not the title) thread, I think I saw him say he only trades with LL's walking by, not beggars. So, thanks for reading and please consider what I said.

PS- I find your signiture not true/a bit offensive, as there are many noble players (LL's can be noble players too, in case anyone was wondering .)

That was what I was posting while it was locked. Anyway, hope to see you at the fishing spot soon!

I myself joined this noble cause, and found it very fulfilling! Easy powerfishing, faster to trade people than to drop or bank!

WOOT!

I really wouldn't call it an era. It was more of a definitive time period during which dinstinctive characteristics were expressed in similar ways.
