l3il2die
Well...being Aussie i thought why not :> Aussie Aussie Aussie !!! 1st half round up, Australia had 1 or 2 chances....Great save by Edwin van der sar from Viduka.... The Dutch have had a few more chances, with some fairly decent saves from Schwarzer...and one diving outstretched cracker... Australias passing game was below par and should hopefuly improve in the 2nd half when they realise they can challenge the Dutch and pull off a win or.. draw.. FULL TIME 1-1...The last 30 minutes was a bit of a test because Luke Wilkshire was sent off..., Mark Schwarzer has most likely cemented his place as No.1 Choice Keeper with about 11 saves...The Dutch were unlucky to get a winner a minute out from injury time with a free kick hitting the post...Australia had the last chance with a corner... Bauke
I'm Dutch. Too bad Holland didn't won, they were the better team in this match. It was kind of frustrating to see that all those chances were missed. It's worrying that Holland needs that much chances to score. The penalty that Australia got went in very, very lucky.. Holland had some bad luck, but really unlucky was that we had 3 players getting injured in this match. Bauke
I hope so too. But it doesn't look very good. I hope they will have recovered before the first WC match. How2PK
Because they chose for other players who would fit the team better. :) I saw the match as well, being Dutch I supported the Dutch of course. We played well the first half, played bad the second half. Too bad we got so much injuries (Ausie's were a bit harsh at some points :S), we couldn't really use them a week before the W.C. Too bad we were being denied a penalty in the first half. Australia did quite good. We're better against bigger teams, so I got good hope for the upcomming championship. I'm a bit scared about the match against Argentina though. Not because they're better or something, but they play a dirty game and we already got a half injured mid-field. Bubsa
Smegging hell, the way you keep going on you'd think Australia have a chance or something. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
Necromagus
Huntelaar wasn't in because we needed his two goals to beat Ukraine in the finals of the European Championship for <21 teams :D (3-0) Anyway, I think Australia got off lucky with the penalty and the huge number of oppertunities Holland got for 2-0/2-1. Also, the match was quite physical for a friendly match :? Bauke
Holland played too lightly. They should've taken this game more serious and play harder. You could see their intention was to sustain as little injuries as possible. If you play like that your opponent will try to take advantage from it. Ianbur
Why do you post a new topic every time Australia play? You'll be going into overdrive when the WC starts. Anyway, it sounded like a pretty dirty match. Two Dutch players injured, and a red card. Good to see Van Nistelrooy scoring, even if he does appear to be out the door at United.
