June 7, 200620 yr I'm Canadian so obviously I'd like Edmonton to win but of course Carolina has much more skill. Series right now is Carolina up 1-0 after Brind'Amour scored on an empty net (silly goalie went behind the net to tap the puck to Smyth and Brind'Amour intercepted) to give the 'Canes the winning goal (5-4) and also a good block by Cam Ward off a beautiful shot from Shawn Horcoff. Nevertheless I've set down bets with 3 of my teachers that Carolina will trample Edmonton Plus, Dwayne Roloson is out after getting hit into the goal (right knee injury). I'd have a bit of doubt if Edmonton could have Sammy Salo to step into net but they got some random guy who doesn't seem terribly promising.... June 7, 200620 yr if Edmonton could have Sammy Salo to step into net but they got some random guy who doesn't seem terribly promising.... Sami Salo is a defenceman who has never played for Edmonton :P You probably mean Tommy Salo, but I wouldn't really count on him either *tsk Belarus winter olympics 2002 *tsk* Anyways next night I'll place my money on Carolina. Markkanen&Conklin haven't really played for months and they have never been those goalies who I'd trust to lead a team to the Cup. I'd rather die for what I believe in than live for anything else.Name Removed by Administrator ~Turtlefemm
June 7, 200620 yr You can almost go with a Carolina SWEEP. Yes, you heard me right, a SWEEP. Playoffs are all about experience and *cough* as hohto mentioned before, Juicy and Conkers cant be trusted. You see what Conk did when he came in. Turned it right over, costed the game. Stick a fork in em, theyre done.
June 7, 200620 yr yeah as much as i hate to say it i think Carolina will win in 5 games. They have more skill and now without Roloson Edmonton is gonna need some major luck, although i do hope edmonton wins fight caves defeated 3/10/06 at 96 combat 77 range99+ farming----99+herblore----99 range----99 thieving213th to 99 herblore, June 29, 2007
June 7, 200620 yr you know what guys...im from edmonton THEY WILL WIN...actually to be honest without roloson itll be amiracle if they can win...they have a chance but you have to admit if they still had roloson they would have won taht and the next 3 games Trix.--quit WoW as of 12/07Thank you 4be2jue for the wonderful sig and avatar!
June 7, 200620 yr IMO While going into the series Edmonton was the better team. However no Roloson = No cup. Conklin chokes, a lot. Markannen, is a back-up - nothing more. And of course argueably the most important player in playoffs is the Goalie. I still think that Buffalo should be in the finals. They were the better team just Carolina had all the four-leaf clovers and horseshoes. But yeah, Edmonton wouldn't have made the playoffs with out Roloson. I still don't know why Mac-T was putting the guys he was on the ice. I've said it since the beginning of the playoffs, Bergeron and Greene are both irresponsible on the back end as well as Bergeron is unable to cover most guys due to his size. In crucial times neither should be on except for PPs (Bergeron). Furthermore DON'T ever have those guys on at the same time as Laraque and the fourth line ESPECIALLY when the game is CLOSE. Roloson shouldn't of been hurt if Bergeron made the right play, which is to never hit a guy into your goalie when your both going full speed, and then considering Ladd had already lost the puck... On a Side note, silly goalie went behind the net to tap the puck to Smyth and Brind'Amour intercepted) It was Jason Smith not Ryan Smyth.
June 7, 200620 yr Without Roli playing, I'm gonna have to go with Carolina  I know the price. I pay it gladly.
June 7, 200620 yr im canadian but im cheerin fer carolina, can't believe oilers goalie was out of net, he didnt even go bak in..that was sad, and yeha, its time fer the oilers to continue their losing streek 8-) W00T 1-0 series, carolina! :D \:D/ Ray::P2P::::Roaming Around::::Phat me pl0x?::::Beamster:: \:D/
June 8, 200620 yr Without Dwayne Roloson, I'd have to go with Carolina. Edmonton got here based heavily on goaltending, and without that solid they're chances don't look too good. I predict Carolina in 5. : /
June 8, 200620 yr Author ya, same here. I'm thinking Carolina in 5, but obviously if Roloson were still there I should think it'd be Edmonton in 5 or 6. Conklin seems very incapable and I wouldn't bet a cent on him... And ya, my bad, I did mean Tommy Salo (I get confused with first name) cuz I watched him play with (was it Czech Repub.?) in World Series and he was fairly good. Buffalo definitely deserved finals more than 'Canes; in fact I think Canes just fluked that Game 7, where Sabres lucked out cuz Carolina had home advantage (IMO, VERY important in Game 7s) Guess Brind'Amour just did his job and Buffalo's Miller couldn't pull up. June 8, 200620 yr Before the series I would have picked Edmonton - they play with heart, something that can overcome the most skilled teams. However, without Roli, they're sunk. I choose Carolina in 4.

June 8, 200620 yr 5-0 and easiest money ever. PAF had given 1.85 for Carolina's win so I just couldn't resist it. Even 1.3 would have been worth trying, but oh well 8-) Anyways, if you want to describe Markkanen with one picture, it would be: I'd rather die for what I believe in than live for anything else.Name Removed by Administrator ~Turtlefemm

June 8, 200620 yr Anyways, if you want to describe Markkanen with one picture, it would be: Markkanen wasn't that bad, he didn't lose it for them - just didn't give them a good chance to win. Even if only one bounce had to go in for Carolina and the series would still be 2-0. Would of been nice if the boys bothered to show up for the game... Obviously no one told them that they aren't out, yet. However, I will say the guys in front of him don't play with the same confidence as they do with Roloson. Last night was a good example in that, it seemed the team had already decided they don't stand a chance of winning.
June 9, 200620 yr game 2 was dumb, edmonton GAVE UP it wasn't the goalies fault at all. I waqs picking carolina to win but edmonton to put up a good fight.. roloson is 1 player a good one but its not like they have to just lose the puck at half everytime they get it and just mope around  go brind-amour he's from vancouver island like me :D 100% noob since 2001
June 9, 200620 yr I personally am rooting for the Oilers, but they erm.. aren't the best team in the league. They have Roloson, from the WILD. Too bad he's injured. I say the Oilers are done for without that WILD power. I am glad that they took down the sharks though. Woo! ==================================Retired tip.it moderator.Teaching and inspiring.

Im rooting for the Canes for the opposite reason They are one of the best teams in the lague. They have Kaberle from the THRASHERS. He's Healthy! I say the Canes are strong because they can THRASH their opponents ;)
June 9, 200620 yr I hope the canes loose but i thought before the series carolina would light up rolison Buffalo should be in the Hurricanes spot but failed because of defensive injuries they only had 2 or 3 legit defensmen that were ment to be playing
June 9, 200620 yr Author Edmonton kinda just lost their spirit in Game 2, what with Roloson gone... They should have kept going, supported each other, Markkannen particluarly considering he's just a back-up who doesn't play much. Wouldn't have let Carolina sweep em 5-nil that game. I was betting Canes to win that game but did NOT expect a shutout for Ward. Edmonton has definitely done much better than THAT. June 11, 200620 yr *Plays Brass Bonanza in Backround* Now, I'm from Connecticut, but I'm still a Whalers Faithful  . So my favorite team is the Canes. Although, Edmonton will come back and win it. They did it once already after being down 2-0  . I think that "fluke" game winning goal in game 3 will be the momentum changer. Anybody think that Edmonton [fans] were loud on Friday? It was like a sea of white.
June 11, 200620 yr You see *eh* I'm not from Canada *eh* (as you can *eh* tell*eh*), but in this one instence *eh* I'm rootin' tootin' for the *eh* OILERS *eh*...\ Gatorboy428 *eh*
