rune str pures VS. str pures with 1 def

I've been debating about this topic ever since i created my str pure a few months ago. I've started with my lvl 1 def pure thinking that I'll stick to training att and str without ever training def. Now I'm starting to have second thoughts. After using almost 1m worth of lobbies I've been thinking of raising his defence to a rune pure. Now I've seen rune pures in action while fighting them on my main. Most of them were 90+ with lvl 40 def and high str and att hitting straight 15+'s, making most of their opponents tele away and killing some of them with killer KO's(20+). I thought wow I should make my pure that way. But later I thought it might be bad in the long run (gaining permanent 40 def+and increase in combat lvl). But i also thought of the benefits, less use of food for training, more protection when pking besides the full iron or monk's that most str pures wear, and others i can think of atm. I'm sure a lot of you are more experienced with these pures than the simple "just raise your str higher than everything else". So please leave some advice that will help me and others who are questioning whether they should become rune str pures or the simple str pure with 1 def. (I say str pures loosely because I know that there are different hybrids out there with high magic/range along with str). Thanx and happy scaping =p

1def is pointless, you just get hit more..Who cares if your lower combat..its pointless..

Rune pures are good at 90+ str and 70+ attack and MEMBERS, i had a rune pure on f2p and it was impossible to get a good pk, but at members, you got all those pots and pray ... rune pures simply own P2P

i think 1 def pures are better, think of it this way. If you went ahead and got 40 def, you could of used them 40 levels and put them twords strength. So you could be lets say 80 str, 60 att, 1 def or 40 str, 60 att, 40 def.

 

 

 

my level 50 hits constant 15s on people, so once im level 60 ill be hitting 22s. :)

Plus, 1 def level DOES NOT equal 1 str or attack level. In rs1 it did, but rs2 is diferent. I have a rune pure, and they're good if you can pk well

40 defense raises you 10 combat levels.

 

 

 

 

 

so a 70 attack 90 strength and 40 defense

Maybe a 1 def attack pure would be good. Something with 80 attack. That can hit often on both 1 def and 40 def.

Rune Pures own. I had a 1 Defence pure then I was like screw this then made it into a Rune Pure with 1 pray.

i think def 1 pures are better cause there outfit isnt as expensive so you will probalbly end up with more cash then you woud have as a rune pure cause if you die as a rune pure you will lose far more money

rune pures are great fun sure, but they have a problem. They are bound to wearing either blkc hides or rune armor, otherwise they lose the advantage of thier def (it being to low to be of real value without the armor). However, def noobs, who wear robes most of the time, can mage rune pures, who usualy have to run. However, I think rune pures own def pures of a same level in melee - def is a skill far often too underated.

I think you should definitely get defence, Strength pures just don't cut it anymore these days..

I had a pker/staker on Classic with 30 strength, 50 attack and 50 def...he honestly owned. I haven't done much PKing on RS2, but I'd say go for the rune. If you're afraid of dying and losing your armor...well, don't die. The rewards outweigh the risks considerably.

umm is it me or is everyone thinking that every lvl has the same exp to get to the next lvl

 

 

 

60 attck 80 str and 1 def is pure

 

 

 

why is everyone saying that you can get

 

90 attck and 90 str its not the same exp you'll probally get

 

65 attck and 85 str ...
