Is there a reason why guys can't cry?

I'd say that in general guys are afraid to cry becaue they're worrying about their self image. Like I said before, it's really about finding the happy medium.

Boys don't cry because they usually don't have time for it. I don't know where girls find days and days in their agenda to cry and be sad, honestly.

I spend about 6 hours/day awake at home. In most of that time I have to study/do homework. In my spare time I want to be happy, or do something entertaining, not cry.

Honestly that's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard, no offense. People cry for reasons normally. Not just because they have time for it. Even if that was so it wouldn't be the case. I don't know why you think in general guys don't have time but girls do - therefore they cry, like that's just a regular event like watchign tv, reading a book, crying, that you do when you have nothing else to do. I know some people just take 10 minutes or so to cry when a lot of things are going on, but not the way you're talking about. Unless you were being heavily sarcastic and I didn't notice.

Actually I would have to agree with him. I think I can't cry because I don't have the time to try.

Well adam, I dunno it could go either way. Of course its not like you have to have free time to cry, or just break out into crying if theres nothing else to do, but on the other hand, I know I get depressed a lot easier when I have the time to think about stuff too much. When I'm kept busy, I don't usually get depressed.

After reading some of your answers and questions, that reminded me from the "Tough Guise".

Show no weakness. Be agressive, be intimading, show your authority, show your leadership, then you'll earn respect. Be a man. If you don't do that, you'll be disrespected, a [bleep], a [bleep], a [bleep], weak, emotional, and all insults you can think of.

This is the part me that video about the men's tough guise that also reflects that question and the comments you guys made. That reminded me the social imposition of that mentailty that boys don't cry. That also reminded me the similar consequences I have done as a cry baby back at my childhood. Wait a minute, I'm getting off topic and too personnal here...

Crying is something nomal to do. Some people cry more, some people don't. Every tough guys can cry and they're no b____es nor f___s.

If you're restraining your emotions for your rest of your lifetime, you will be stuck with personnal problems that you won't be able to break them.

EDIT notse:

Several words has been censored here.. I have to reword the sentences here:

...you'll be disrespected, a f**, a b****, a w****, weak, emotional, and all insults you can think of....

-=Aznhuskarl=- Cleric

-=20Cent=- Juggernaught

More to come...

I personally think, if a guy is going to cry, then he should do it in private. I've seen girls cry because someone said something really mean to them, but when a guy cries about that, I see him as less of a man because he's not emotianally strong. If he wants to cry about something like that, then he should go to a private place.

Although I'm more of a fan of the 'manly man' kinda thing, not the 'sensitive guy' bulls**t...

Well I'm sure if your mother died you would make 'time' to cry, I don't think you understand what Adam is saying.

I know what you're saying. There was a boy at my school who was recently hit by a car and he died. I was at school and everyone was feeling really down and a boy tripped me. My books went falling everywhere - papers were scattered. I felt like breaking down and crying right then - after everything that had happened that weekend with Annie dying, it was just one more thing.

But I had to get to class so I didn't have time to cry. I picked up my books as fast as I could and hurried down the hallway as fast as I could.

There have been many times where I simply haven't had the time to cry. So, I can understand.

But, I am a girl.

We just cry more often because our hormones make us more... emotional. I'm sure you guys know what hormones are like as well. But, well... yours don't make you emotional. ^_^

Okay, you can 'not have time to cry' (Although it's a stupid concept), but it's not like guys have less time to cry than girls. That makes no sense at all.

What I mean is, if I have a problem, I'll want to get over it, because I have so little time to actually be happy in my day that I won't spend it remembering my sad moments and crying.

I didn't say girls have time, I even said I don't know where they find time to, supposedly, cry.

Of course when a relative dies or something like that everyone will cry, boys, girls and transsexuals. There's no differenciation by gender for the ability to cry.

I wasn't being sarcastic at all, my point is simple: People (men and women) don't cry (usually) because they are so busy that they don't have time to spend with themselves.

But again, there are levels and levels of sadness. Everyone cries when a relative dies, but here I'm talking about crying over something as an unsuccessful job interview, or somebody being mean at you at school.

EDIT: Oh, on a side note, this and the post quoted by Adam were the first two unsarcastic posts by me in this thread.

Haha, sometimes sarcasm is so dark you can hardly tell it is not serious. Just like in Ghost's above post. :P

Oh, I thought you were saying only specifically guys don't have time to cry. I understand what you're saying but I still disagree - at least in my experiences when I need to cry it just happens and time isn't a factor in what my body does. If something hurts emotionally enough to make me cry I'm gonna cry regardless of whether I need to go to bed in 10 minutes because there aren't enough hours in the day. Maybe I don't know enough about it though - in the past few years I've only cried once because of relative's passing away.
