As others said, your friend, unless fighting against the others, should be alive. Innocent civilians would not get killed. If I personally had a friend in this situation I'd laugh a little too, not because it's funny but it's a diverison from the scary thought of my friend's death. :( I really hope your friend and brother are alive and well.
