runecrafting minds

What's the closest bank to the mind altar?

Edgeville is the closest.

Using the Fally bank is a safer trip though.

Also,

the best average exp that you can get with mind runes is about 18 per cast.

But, Curse, using a Body rune, always gives 29 exp per cast....

Hope this helps.

The edgeville route passes through level 4 wilderness, and is definitely faster than falador - partly because there are so many trees on tha fally route, that you waste time zigzagging.

Not come across any really serious opposition, though you do need to be ready to run (CTRL click) and always save some run energy. Main hazard is getting maged or ranged.

Curses may be cheap XP, but curses don't get kills - my mage is now able to wind blast, but I still carry fire strikes by the thousand, to knock down anything from safe cover.

An additional note:

Once you use stuff like weaken/curse/confuse, you have to wait about 10 minutes before that specific spell may be used again, because it takes that long for the immunity to further hits from the spell to wear off.

And btw, Edgeville Bank is closest to the Mind Altar Entry. Trips through Level 4 Wilderness are usually 99.95% safe. Although my personal experience is that it is more like 99.9995% safe. As others have said, save some run energy (like 85%+!!!) so you can run if needs be.

'Nuff said.

not if you wear full metal armor so that every time you cast, your curse fails to take effect (you still get the same exp by casting the spell)

that way, you can keep cursing the same monster over and over

only problem is that on f2p, you might succeed once your mage level exceeds 65 (75 if you don't use a staff)

Fear the frog reaper. Hypercubes make the frog reaper happy ^_^

Still though, best to combine the curse/weaken/confuse with stuff like Fire Strike. Instead of just gaining exp, you can kick @** and get gp too! :)

edgeville is definitly the better choice..

dont really see the problem with wildy.. if you're gg to rc, i doubt you'll bring any armour or eq with you. getting killed with a tiara and a few mind runes wont cause too much grief.

=P

Edgevill is much closer.

All you have to do is be careful. If you see players within 4 levels of youself hanging around a bit too often for comfort - switch worlds and continue. Keep your eyes looking out to north, if you see a player running down, run like hell.

Apart from that, runecrafting through the wilderness is fine.

That's not a problem at all.

You just have to wear (any) metal 4 piece armor,

(Full helm, plate, legs, and shield)

to get your magic attack stat to -65.

If you want to use an elemental staff to save runes

then also wear green dragonhide vambraces.

That is enough for me, at level 81 magic, to always fail when casting Curse.

Hope this helps

But curse requires much more clicking then fire strike...

Fire strike can autocast.

Anyways, I'd rather use the edgy one. Faster, and you'll only lose a couple runes or ess when you die.

No biggie.

Does anyone happen to know death_siren? She stole a green mask from me, and I think I found my way into her ignore list. If you know anything, please, don't hesitate to give me a pm.

True, but only 2 Curses give about the same exp as 3 Fire strikes.

Over the long run, that will save you thousands of runes.

Fire strike can autocast.

True

So, if you want to save on clicking and/or want

HP exp too, then Fire Strike is a better choice.

But you pay for it by taking far longer to craft the runes

and/or by spending more gp to buy the runes.

Also, if you want to level your Runecrafting, making Bodies

will raise your RC level much faster than Minds will.
