It would be so cool if jagex brought out Runescape Novels, i wuld be reading them all day. or even if they braught out a guide (thats an actual book) that has lots of colors and pictures and awsome stratagy's

They could bring out some books for some of the quests... in very good detail.

or mabey tip.it could make a book.. and sell it.. and make lots of $$ towards there site.

a graphic novel or summat would be better

And so the mighty Hiaklu10957386 began his journey to Varrock Castle to cut the ever respawning Yew Tree. Upon being there he met a scammer who attempted to steal his password. Hiaklu had a mighty decision to make. But from his few mintues at the Stronghold of Security, he learned he should simply report the player for password scamming. A victory was won. Hiaklu arrived at the tree, but to his horror many many autoers were there! He knew that Jagex would not do much, so he world hopped until he found a good tree. The end.

Snore.... That's 1 example of what would happen. :notalk:

If they released books based on the history of RuneScape, it might work. Either that, or quest guides that are released in the form of narratives.

I once tried to write a series of stories based on my own character, but lost interest as the mechanics of the game kept interfering with the story.

If someone writes a novel/comic/etc. based on RuneScape and want to see it, they have to pay Jagex royalties.

Pressumeably jagex would have someone hired to have it written

Might have to pay a bit more than that :)

Naturally. :P But I don't wanna go into that whole list of stuff. If Jagex does hire someone to do it for them, no problem. :)

Books...shouldn't be based on MMORPGs. End of story. :notalk:

And Jagex really doesn't need to start making books or cheap novelty toys. :-X

Although I do wonder slightly if Jagex has any novel writing talent... :-k

I swear, every pos I see that is a reply from most of you is "so-and-so goes here and mines all day blah blah blah this would suck!" Do you even read? Why would someone write about that? They wouldn't. You wouldn't think that mice and other animals wearing swords and helmets and fighting each other isn't interesting either but the Redwall series kicks butt. All you do is bend the elements of the game add a storyline and voila, you have a novel.

I've worked on a 3 piece story which also has prequals that explain alot of stuff already done in my head and could type it out if anyone was interested. Mind you I would have the politcally correct nazis destroy my work because it doesn't follow most of the rules of the game but I've written something. Hit me up via pm if you'd be interested in it. I'll probably write up a chapter tonight and post it tommorow

From what I've found so far, World of Warcraft has a couple novels out. Dunno how good they are or how much they relate back to the game itself.

If a novel does come out for RuneScape, it may focus more on history first before an actual "oh no level up the skill" situation (without the numbers; think of it as an apprentice learning a skill and later mastering it before continuing on to the next task).

I'm sure Runescape has enough of a backstory for a novel to be written, and as they expand their markets, they might publish some books like Blizzard does for their games.

I don't think Jagex will release any book in the subject Runescape beacuse there isn't any really story in it. Yoy can do what you want, and how should you base a story on that?

But as other guys had said already, there might be a runescape novel about the history of Runescape.

Well, I doubt it'd be something like "The Story of Runescape: Auberean mines 10,000 coal".

"Mine. Bank. Mine. Bank. Mine. Bank. Mine. Bank."

But there is enough vague information to make a story in the Runescape universe along the lines of "The Brave Hero is sent on a mission by the god..."
