August 13, 200619 yr I figured this would be sort of a unique idea. The goal of this topic is to show what it would cost the average player, to buy his way to level 99 in a specific skill. All prices are based on the player having 273,742xp points to begin with in the skill, which is level 60 for those who are wandering. Fletching: Method #1 - Pure Maples Material(s) needed: maple logs Target item: unstrung maple longbow Price per maple log: 100gp each Amount of material(s) needed: 219,068 Amount of target item to be made: 219,068 Total price = 21,906,800 gp Method #2 - Maples, then Yews Material(s) needed: maple logs, yew logs Target item: unstrung maple longbow til 70, unstrung yew longbows after Price per maple log: 100gp each Price per yew log: 250gp each Amount of material(s) needed: maples = 7,964; yews = 163,958 Amount of target item to be made: unstrung maple longbows = 7,964; unstrung yew longbows = 163,958 Total price = 41,785,900 gp Prayer Method #1 - Gilded Altar Material(s) needed: dragon bones Target item: n/a Price per dragon bone: 2,500gp each Amount of material(s) needed: 50,638 Amount of target item to be used: n/a Total price = 126,595,000 gp Method #2 - Ectofuntus Material(s) needed: dragon bones Target item: n/a Price per dragon bone: 2,500gp each Amount of material(s) needed: 44,308 Amount of target item to be used: n/a Total price = 110,770,000 gp Smithing Method #1 - Smelting + Smithing steel bars Material(s) needed: coal, iron ore Target item: smelt = steel bars, smith = any item Price per coal: 200gp each Price per iron ore: 120gp each Amount of material(s) needed: coal = 464,026; iron ore = 232,013 Amount of target item to be made: n/a Total price = 120,646,760 gp Method #2 - Steel bars (already smelted) Material(s) needed: steel bars Target item: smith = any item Price per steel bar: 600gp each Amount of material(s) needed: 340,286 Amount of target item to be made: n/a Total price = 204,171,600 gp Method #3 - Smelting + Smithing iron Material(s) needed: iron ore, forging rings Target item: smelt = iron bars, smith = preferably iron knives (5 knives per bar) Price per iron ore: 120gp each Price per forging ring: 2,000gp each Amount of material(s) needed: iron ore = 340,286; forging rings = 2431 Amount of target item to be made: 1,701,430 knives (340,286 bars) Total price = 41,320,520gp (NOTE: Taking my advice on making iron knives, which sell for 40gp each, you will make back 68,057,200gp after finishing, which is 26,736,680gp profit.) Method #4 - Gold smelting (with gauntlets) Material(s) needed: gold ore Target item: gold bar Price per goldl ore: 500gp each Amount of material(s) needed: 227,059 Amount of target item to be made: n/a Total price = 113,529,500 gp Construction: Material(s) needed: oak planks Target item: any item Price per oak plank: 500gp each Amount of material(s) needed: 212,679 Amount of target item to be made: n/a Total price = 106,339,500 gp Cooking (with gauntlets) - (Note: Use tuna til 68, lobsters til 94, shark til 99) Material(s) needed: raw tuna, raw lobsters, raw sharks Target item: n/a Price per raw tuna: 100gp each Price per raw lobster: 200gp each Price per raw shark: 900gp each Amount of material(s) needed: raw tuna= 3,313; raw lobsters = 61,164; raw shark = 24,238 Amount of target item to be made: n/a Total price = 34,378,300 gp NOTE: This is not a complete list of every skill. Some skills are not purchasable, others have a fail rate or other variables, and some I haven't done the figures on. NOTE 2: This guide does NOT, with the exception of the additional notes for smithing iron knives, factor in the returns from selling/alching produced items. You may make back a decent chunk of change from taking advantage of such methods. D's guide to 1 Item objects

August 13, 200619 yr O.o That's awesome, but for stuff like smithing steel, you can't do that at level one.. :) Droolman's item Guide | My RuneScape pictures | My barrows videos, with download link!Free Image Hosting! | Free File Hosting!
August 13, 200619 yr wow you can use maple logs in construction? :roll:otherwise...nice job I shall take my flock underneath my own wing, and kick them right the [bleep] out of the tree. If they were meant to fly, they won't break their necks on the concrete. So, what is 1.111... equal to?10/9. Please don't continue.
August 13, 200619 yr Material(s) needed: oak planks Target item: any item Price per maple log: 500gp each Amount of material(s) needed: 212,679 Amount of target item to be made: n/a Wtf? =D> You should just calc maple longs till lv 70 on fletching, then yew longs for faster xp & profit.
August 13, 200619 yr Awesome, I was wondering one thing though. You can sell steel bars after you make them, meaning you don't have to lose that much. Bars sell for 550-600ea I think. :) Droolman's item Guide | My RuneScape pictures | My barrows videos, with download link!Free Image Hosting! | Free File Hosting!
August 13, 200619 yr Author wow you can use maple logs in construction? :roll:otherwise...nice job your looking at Fletching   Actually I forgot to change it to state oak planks, but it has now been corrected. Thanks though nvw ;) D's guide to 1 Item objects
August 13, 200619 yr The fletching money thing is way out. As soon as you got 70 you would switch to yew longs for faster xp. These would produce a profit. Once you get 70 fletching you don't lose money on it, it's all gain. (fletching lvl in siggy)
August 13, 200619 yr firemaking costs 5m max I believe(been awhile since I calc'd it) and cooking costs 20m using lobs from the lvl you stop burning with gaunts til sharks and then moving onto sharks at 94 til 99 you'd be using the same amount of cash(assuming you buy and sell the lobs for the same amount and then buy sharks or buy 100k lobs and don't do sharks from 94 :o) You also can buy 91 rc for 25ish mill I believe(using the air company and you'd turn mad profits with your air runes) And I'd assume for 99 you'd need 50m for rcing doing airs the whole way or if you wanted madder profits then nat crafting at 91. Yes, i know, horrible grammar and run on sentences. :D
August 13, 200619 yr Some of them are off by about 20M, good job though. If you high alch the finished products it should bring back a TON of cash. :3>
August 13, 200619 yr Nice idea, I've actually needed to calculate some of these for planning what i'm going to get 99 in, certainly will help me :) 99 Magic, 99 Defence, 99 Strength, 99 Attack, 99 Hitpoints, 99 Fletching, 99 Woodcutting, 99 Firemaking, 99 Thieving, 99 Ranged, 99 Prayer, 99 Cooking, 99 Fishing
August 13, 200619 yr You should add the smelting gold with gauntlets for smithing, because it will cost alot less, especially if you sell the gold bars afterwards. |Barrows Drops-7|Dragon Drops-5|
August 13, 200619 yr Author I just update it alittle to add a path for switching to yews at 70 fletching, gold smelting, and a method for cooking. Shaddd, how so? I do not see any inaccuracys in the figures? Cbkviper, not long really. Keep in mind tip it has guides, skill calculators, and the experience table which makes it much easier to figure upon the exact amounts needed and cuts down on time drastically. August 13, 200619 yr I like woodcutting cause it's one of the few skills in which you can't buy your way to 99. Makes it more of an accomplishment when you get the double 9s \ And shepherds we shall be, for Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be. In nomine Patris et Filii et Spiritus Sancti.
August 13, 200619 yr Pretty nice thing going on  Just as Mo Gui Gui said (forgot TIF name), from 70, just yew long bows. I got 78 fletching myself and you get a decent amount of cash + xp + highscores ftw! :XD:
