I asked my friends and brother about them and they said they didn't hurt when they had braces. Also I'm getting my braces next tuesday -- the day before school starts. :( p.s. And angel cake, just cut them up into peices first. overload on asprin and pain killers. I ended up taking like 2 every hour and a half or so, it helps, somewhat. Guest TaDaraCampbell Posted August 16, 2006 Share Posted August 16, 2006 ahh..braces, still got mine :D funny how freaked out people get other people about them, then they all come running to me so i have to set them staight.. tell them that getting the braces on doesnt hurt at all (unless you get them on in the winter like i did and the water was literally frigid, ow that hurt so much..) in the end.. braces may hurt for a few days.. ok, 3 weeks or so i believe mine hurt, but they're worth it and look good on ya, too. :D My first meal, if i recall correctly, was a tv dinner, a chinese one with rice and chicken... how moronic was that, turns out my mouth was so numb i didnt even feel the rice. and then the next day or so we had fajitas, i just grabbed the meat and stuff from the bowl and shoved it into my mouth, i was hungry, it tasted good, and it was somewhat soft, so i took it all in : thats about all i can think about saying about braces.. other than it sucks when one of the wires keep tearing up your cheak and your mom can't get an appointment to get them clipped, so you have to practically cry yourself to sleep from the pain, and your parents just shrug it off..[an occurance that is somewhat going on right this moment, but im getting over it]. and when you have to get rubber-bands, those hurt quite a bit, and i just got back on them. :x what are spacers? ive only had/heard of braces, and heard of retainers. take two... hell if ur big enough bodied, take three, and try to eat something, or drink orange juice. and please don't say things like this, why do you think the producers of such medicines are creating comercials that are specifically saying "please do not over-use our product" Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest TaDaraCampbell Posted August 16, 2006 Share Posted August 16, 2006 spaces dont hurt at all i had lots in, and braces dont hurt, nor to gettign wisdom teeth out stubbign your toe hurt worse then any of them 3 ~bmms Off topic: i was running after my sis with no shoes on, i was running after her on our paved driveway.. my big toe went under my foot and slid across the ground stripping like everything from it, at first im like "omg.. i think i just hurt myself... i know i hurt myself.. where's the pain, o dang, there it is, omg, i can't walk now" *limps to my mom* "mom, ahhh! i hurt myself!"z0mg0rz instand blood blister pl0x. that hurt bad. and then after i went through the pain of putting it in the sink and putting peroxide on it (my mom more than likely had to hold me down) i had to wear a shoe over my foot because i kept hitting it on things, because it was so numb and i couldn't control all of my actions for some reason. and [on topic] yes it hurts to stub your toe more than braces, this is a good example... and a bring-up-painfull-memories kind of example :::sometimes if im on cement nowadays i will walk as slow as i can and stare at the ground the whole time, that memory drives me nuts, and i dont want it to happen again, since it was probly the most pain i've ever had Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It's bearable - I didn't need any medication really. Chewing will be pretty hard so I'd go with liquid and soft food. At first it'll seem terrible and you'll want them off desperately but you really do get used to them and eventually not even really feel like they're foreign in your mouth.
