August 23, 200619 yr Heyall, Recently I had a cool idea about dueling. If you got the first hit in fights with maxed combat mains which ussually last about 10 hits total, your tiebreaking hit advantage would allow you to win more duels than you lost against a given opponent. If you did this and just kept staking, you would eventually clean them. This worked fine for me on my main, I gathered about 5billion in resources against other maxed players and was very happy. Then I staked a certain player about 100 times going back and forth with the stake being around 200m a duel. After the dust setteled I was out 30 santas 6 phats and 600m cash. I got the first hit in 95 percent of the duels. About half were specials on, half specials off. Why did I lose? Is there a new prayer glitch? What happened? Any ideas?
August 23, 200619 yr i'm pretty sure it's completely random if you hit or not...I don't think prayers have anything to do with this
August 23, 200619 yr In the duelling arena, you get owned \ Thats my experience anyway. but what about the people who win.. they clearly done get owned. :anxious: 92/99 Fishing | 119/120 Combat | 92/99 Firemaking | 94/99 Fletching | 1878/1900 Total | 85/85 Slayer | 80/80 Prayer

August 23, 200619 yr I noticed this too....getting the first hit was making me lose all the duels i got it on...i stopped trying to stake from that :uhh:
August 23, 200619 yr I can imagine all sorts of things like hitting first can allow you to hit more, like glitched levels? Or maybe its just random and you're unlucky,
August 23, 200619 yr Luck prevails over all in duels. People only stake under the belief that luck evens out over time, and that's not always true. Click (above) for my blog!!
August 23, 200619 yr Hmm im not sure but when i stake a bit usually with veracs i'd never get in the first hit but theyd get a good hit on me and usually when i was on low hp id make a comeback and own em  but yeah im not sure how much it matters. Quit. PM me if you play The Conduit to exchange friend codes.
August 23, 200619 yr Hey 0mega, haven't talked to you in awhile. Sad to hear you ended up losing so much of your fortune, the reason i've always steered clear of staking is that when it involves huge amounts of money, there is often some x factor at work. It is very plausible that there is an abusable staking glitch, especially with these new updates, but sometimes you just don't hit, for whatever reason. Technically, getting the first hit is the only realistic advantage you can get while Dueling, so there is no logical explanation as to why you'd be losing, other than just some nasty luck or an outside effect.
August 23, 200619 yr First hits are a lot more useful when neither side has defence. Click (above) for my blog!!
August 24, 200619 yr 5 BILLION? How long have you played? Sorry dude, I think it's a good idea, but I seriously doubt you.
August 24, 200619 yr Luck prevails over all in duels. People only stake under the belief that luck evens out over time, and that's not always true. that is asuming luck exisits which it doesnt its called chance and statistics if you want to be technical, although when it comes to runescape it is a set of completely random numbers rangeing from your max hit to 0. Just an average player with a horrible name...
August 24, 200619 yr Sucks to lost that much But I've heard ppl say if they always hit first and lost... I'm not sure though :?

Luck exists alright. It's just the probability of an event happening. If you get it, you earn a high five and it's lucky. If not, well, too bad. It's all luck. The odds of you winning are tilted by skills and equipment. Think of it like this. Atk/Str/Def/Health Person 1: 70/70/70/52 Person 2: 60/60/60/99 Person Two's chances of winning are slightly increased due to his health. If person 1 wins, he's really lucky or it's his skills. So to make a long story short, it's either your luck or skills. Mainly skills.
August 24, 200619 yr well idiotelzar you sure live up to your name, read the part about maxed combat mains before posting that its mostly stats
August 24, 200619 yr Author He made a good point that most people who replied missed. It is all luck, but you can tilt the luck in your favor. Over a large sampling of fights, like my case you should win more than you lose if you have a significant advantage like first hit, But for some reason I lost about two thirds of the fights, that is about a 20 percent shift from the 60-40 that the first hit fighter ussually enjoys. This is certantly not a coincidence because of the huge sampling I talked to many other people, and raven while never getting first hits gets about the same thing against everyone. Something is up and I want to figure it out.
August 24, 200619 yr saw your post on mm,oh well,my opinion is and stays completely random, altough i'm in with the same problem, used to win everything when i got the first, awesome obby ring hits, now i rarely hit 19s :(
August 24, 200619 yr Something is up and I want to figure it out. THAT'S EASY!!! RS2 came out!
August 24, 200619 yr Author Yah, I think I'm not going to figure this one out. I'm going to stop staking phats for a while and go back to cleaning the semi poor mains of runescape in 5m stakes. Every day for the next week I am going to win 150m, I should be ok after that.
August 24, 200619 yr The chance of winning with any advantage would tilt the wins in the favor of the person with that advantage over time. Since your sample is so large the chances of that being the opposite (especially SO FAR to the opposite) are simply astronomical. This means that the person at the disadvantage has insanely, disgustingly great luck or has some advantage that is unknown to you. That advantage should be apparent during the duel (hey I thought food was off!?!?!) or is from some form of bug/glitch abuse. After losing so many times in a row, why would you keep at it? I don't understand. You seem intelligent but came back repeatedly to a losing battle. Fun? Challenge? Curiosity? I would take the remainder of your great wealth and put it towards something more profitable. :?
