Karmastocracy
~If You Take The Time to Read This, Please Take The Time To Post~ I love quests. One of the quests I have not done yet is the Haunted Mine Quest, and I am thinking about doing it.I need advice though. I am a lvl 78, and I read through the quest guide. On the "Treus Dayth" part (Of the Tip.it Quest Guide) I am confused a little. First, I do not understand why 'protect from' prayers wouldn't work (I am lvl 54 prayer so I can do them all.) Second (You can look me up on the Highscores, or down at my sig. for this one.), I need to know if I could handle/do it, I have over 110+ Quest Points so I Have some experience with quests but I don't know if im up to the boss. And Third, if you guys have any tips, or anything that might help me, I would be very grateful if you could help me! :P ~(Thanks in Advanced for your Help)~ Guide to Everything Fletching XBL: Karmastocracy[stumbleupon]* Sits on a mossy rock with a notebook in hand, observing the behavior of the specimens dubbed "Fanboys"~"Even when the odds are against you, even when the chance of victory is bleak and your situation looks hopeless, take a look at the horizon, and think back to what you have learned. ancientzoide
i havent done it myself but they have thousands of people check the guidse so obviously protect prayers dont work. for every boss you fight except a few hard quest bosses theres a safe spot so id say your up for it because ive seen some low lvls do it Retired from RS since Sept
Karmastocracy
i havent done it myself but they have thousands of people check the guidse so obviously protect prayers dont work. That's not necessarily true you know :) , are you sayin' that there's never been a mistake in a guide? Anyways to my knowledge, this is one of the lesser done quests. I just also need (want) to understand why. I know in the guide it says "Protection prayers do NOT help! As you fight this challenging lvl 95 he teleports around the room and causes the objects in it to attack you (which is why the prayers do not protect you). " So does he attack you, and the furnature attacks? In which case you could maybe protect from one of the attacks? Or does the furniture do the fighting for him, while he tele's around the room? That's one of the things I want to know. :P for every boss you fight except a few hard quest bosses theres a safe spot so id say your up for it because ive seen some low lvls do itBy low levels, do you mean less than 78? Or 78+ lvls. :-s As you can see in my sig, my current combat lvl is 78. :P Guide to Everything Fletching XBL: Karmastocracy[stumbleupon]* Sits on a mossy rock with a notebook in hand, observing the behavior of the specimens dubbed "Fanboys"~"Even when the odds are against you, even when the chance of victory is bleak and your situation looks hopeless, take a look at the horizon, and think back to what you have learned. celebelian
Prayer doesn't help. I dunno why - it just doesn't. (I have done the quest) I did the quest at about your level, and had no problem. Good luck!
ctp080188
I recently did it at 76 combat, no trouble whatsoever. I had some prayer on, but it didn't help lol, just bring some good food. SHH HUT YUH MUH. DERKHED.
Ethiery
Well, the reason is you're not directly attacked by him, you're constantly bombarded with flying hammers, crane arms, moving carts, etc, etc, many different attacks and you can't switch/protect them all. A man who doesn't read, is no smarter than a man who can't read.
IceBlackIce
The problem is that even if you PROTECT range (those flying hammers and whatever) you can still get hit from it and he teles around the room and you get stuck lots of times in all the junk around...i tried 2/3 times and i got owned every single time (i took swordies not sharks maybe thats the prob). My advice is dont think about it until later on. *** [ END ]: You gained 1,671,000 thieving exp in 9mins 44secs. pompey_spud
well thats that guy who did it at a fairly low combat lvl, and he has the picture in his sig and whatnot, ask him for advice
Enrico1992
The most important thing to know is HE MOVES EVERY TIME HE TAKES DAMAGE. So if u use DDS spec he takes the first hit, moves then automatically takes the second hit. So WEAPON SPEED IS COMPLETELY USELESS. I died to him 3 times and that's my experience. Dragon Mace specs is a good idea.
Unitedite
Urgh. I've been twice and died twice, last time at about combat 80. You're constantly being hit by flying azes, and there's the cranes moving around which can hurt, but the worst part are the carts - if you're unlucky and get caught behind one you can build up a number of very high hits. Whatever you pray, you'll be getting hit a lot. Imo you should definately attack him from range - melee means you're far more likely to run into the stuff flying around the room as you run around trying to keep up with him. It's essential to take a panic button, and be ready with it. Next time i go i'll be taking runes for blood burst, a full invent of sharks, and crossing my fingers. In a little hilltop village they gambled for my clothesI bargained for salvation and they gave me a lethal doseI offered up my innocence, I got repaid with scorn"Come in'', she said, "I'll give you shelter from the storm"

IceBlackIce
imo range is useless as you will get lots of damage while chasing him, i think the poster who said that he moves everytime he gets hit is right. the most important thing is to hit hard everytime you hit, next time ill take a super atack, super str, whip and rune defender, and the ocasionally armor, to make sure everytime i hit ill hit im good. and dont be to picky about food, ill be getting sharks next time i try. *** [ END ]: You gained 1,671,000 thieving exp in 9mins 44secs. IceBlackIce
Try both =) but from my point of view, when ranging you will chase him around like a headless chicken and be VERY careful to not get hit, since your char will chase him reckless. But when melleing you will have better insight what steps to take and wich traps are coming your way. just my 2cents *** [ END ]: You gained 1,671,000 thieving exp in 9mins 44secs. I said from range - not specifically ranged. I think you run around far less when attacking at range, and therefore you're much less likely to hit traps as long as you understand how your char moves when attacking at range. Fail_o_holic
He's trying to say that you'll be better off ranging. I disagree. At your range level you'll nickel and dime him to death and he'll teleport like crazy. Melee him with the heaviest weapon you have, that means a d mace, long (for specs), battleaxe, or even some sort of maul. I almost got owned doing this quest at level 75 or so. (Enchanted lyre ftw! \ ) Still haven't bothered going back... Thanks for extending my "to do" list... - Pfft, my goals are FAR too "fluid" (ie. I have ADD) to be recorded in my sig. uber_dad
I did this quest in the low 70s and it wasn't too bad. The best advice I can give is bring a few energy pots, since running it key to beating the boss. Keep run on and you'll get to hit a lot faster after he teleports and maybe get two hits in instead of one. You want to hit as hard as you can when you get the chance, so use a hard hitting weapon. I used a dragon long and activated the special before running over to hit. You'll also notice that he teleports to the same 4 locations, so when he turns to ghost form, take note of the direction he's going in and run to the spot where you know he will appear. Don't worry about the flying tools... just stay away from the animated crane and the mining cart. They hit HARD and the carts will plow you over for multiple hits before you can run out of the way. Don't panic. bring lots of food, and the energy potions are key to keeping your run up. Give it a shot, and I'm sure you'll be ok. I'm not sure if items like holy symbols weaken him since he's a vampire. Maybe someone else can chime in on that one.
B_50_2
That quest is easy. Why everyone said it was hard it wasn't  Take sharks, and don't get lost! If anyone remembers me... PM ME. having nostaligia issues D:

rft
sounds like a good selection. I didnt have too many problems with the quest, but I was about 10 combat higher than you are at the time. Just remember to take a 1-click teleport too in case of problems, but I think that you will be fine. PumpkinPete112
If im reading this correctly, protection prayer wont work. I would use Ultimate Strength and Incredible Reflexes then, and Redemption if needed. They help alot (PS: I havent done it yet) Sig
