I was walking home today, and I was thinking about a song called Wings of Dispair by Kamelot. In the weird way my mind works that went to real people flying, to runescape characters flying(An idea for my next post? Lol.), to floating cities. I just thought it would be cool if there were cities in the sky, and you could look to the ground. There could be bridges and a flying race of people. Just a thought.

This post is getting alot of positive feed back, so I decided to put a bunch of the idea's in the first post, like a summary.

 

 

 

The city would have city stuff, like a bank, general store, maybe some special shops, an alter, ect.

 

 

 

The NPCs would fly. Could be angelic, dragonic, demonic beings, transforming creatures or all of them.

 

 

 

Transport to the city could include teleporting, a giant halk(or some other bird) or an advance gnome glider.

 

 

 

There could be a quest to get to the city, and a couple of quests in the city.

 

 

 

Other than that I don't know. The idea just popped in my head so I posted it. I'll be glad to add any other good ideas.

That would follow the magic in the lore, I myself am a fan of flying I bet Jagex has considered this idea b4

I wouldn't think that it would be hard to program. Just a short cutscene when you chose the option look off side. They already have flying mosters, so just change the graphic, and put talk to, bank, trade, ect. options. Otherwise, just use the same layout they use for water, only have a picture of ground and ocean in it's place.

It was a joke...this is a good idea though.

I think it sounds cool as long as you the player don't get to fly yourself. Maybe a new transport option like a giant hawk or something could take you there like a boat.

Awesome but kinda difficult though... It would still be cool though to c ppl flying around.. Maybe using like magical carpets and stuff like that.. nice idea!!

I was thinking angelic like beings, but dragonic people world be cool. And maybe people like on Fire Emblem: POR with people who could transform in to animals. Use the same principle as werewolves maybe... Lot's of things could be done, and there doesn't necessarily have to be 1 race. Maybe a couple of the air peoples could be at war and it could be a quest. That would be assuming there were more than one city.

 

 

 

A way to get there could be a device built by dwarven engineers and gnome sappers. A mechanical glider. Just an idea....

Oh wait- an idea just popped into my head! A new quest following the gnome series about using gnomic magick to make a city come up from the ground and float! Man that would be awesome, it would give ALOT more room for jagex to put stuff on the map.

On topic: I like it. It would be like geting to Zanaris, you have to do a special quest to gain access to the place. Once you have access to the city you would get there via means of there local transportation (i.e. a representative from there city will take you).
