August 29, 200619 yr The rules said that if they were used correctly and not excessivly, cursing was acceptable. What is concidered excessive though. Lets say for example I happen to have a sig I would like to use that is a .gif file. In forementioned .gif 'the F word' is used. It's used for the sake of comedy, and it doesn't reference anything sexual. Are we down with that kind of thing, or is use of that word righ out?
August 29, 200619 yr It's more as in, if someone was to say " aw hell....I shouldn't have done that =p" Compared to if they were constantly saying it in one post flaming someone or ranting about something. Edit: The "F" word is not allowed, and for good a reason.

August 29, 200619 yr Well, we have younger people using these forums, and it makes some older people feel uncomfortable too. But really, why swear at all? It only says that your not able to say something smart, and can only use childish swear words.

Sure, people who swear every other word screw up the english language, sound igorent, and I all around can't stand them, but isn't that hard to curse and not sound like a total idiot. I swear plenty, but I always make sure to use it in context.

August 29, 200619 yr Simply put, alot of the players are younger. They should not have to be subjected to swearing. Will swearing get you muted? Not always. If you have having fun talking to friends and you are not going overboard, you will probably be ok. If you swear at someone with spite, all bets are off. Just think about how it would make you feel if you had a younger brother/sister and someone was swearing around them. It isn't appropriate and most people would not want it to happen. :-k 99 Att, Str, Def, HP, magic, cook, fire, wc, mining, fletch, prayer, fish, farmOver 2100 skill134 combat

August 29, 200619 yr Swearing is using one inappropriate word. Excessive swearing is using more than one inappropriate word. Hey, if it's inappropriate for children, then explain to me why it's appropriate to adults. - Sligo I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but, I am not sure you realize tht what you heard is not what I meant.

Used at the right times I find swearing can be good. For instance, if I'm VERY angry people will know because I'll probably swear. I think swearing is a delicate and underrated part of the English language that, if used well, can help to emphasise a point with great magnitude. Of course, swearing all the time or for no reason is moronic.

August 29, 200619 yr i have no problem with swearing. it doesn't hurt anyone, and doesnt offend anymore than name calling such as "noob" would and that's allowed. Swearing just for the sake of swearing and showing off is childish but in certain situations swearing is the most effective way of displaying anger.
August 29, 200619 yr I'm okay with swearing as long as it isn't pointed towards any person... R.I.P. Shiva and Steve
August 29, 200619 yr Hey, if it's inappropriate for children, then explain to me why it's appropriate to adults. It isn't, swearing pretty much brings you down to the intelligence level of a child, most likely even less (By child, I mean under eight years old). Maybe even throw in some monkey genes/brains and you have yourself a swearing adult/child. Trust me, I'm only thirteen and hearing anyone swearing without a *good* reason gets a bit annoying, especially when it's eight year-olds (All this is in reference to real life, thankfully Runescape has a chat filter) What I really think they should do is adjust the filters to allow you to swear, yet if you do, your sentence does not appear at all to the ones around you. This would prevent you being able to convey your opinion because most of the time, even if you only see *'s then you can usually fill in the word. Not only that, but this would clear up all the clutter of pointless statements, preventing chat clutter. They would have to majorly adjust the chat filters, and fix the current bugs. There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. Thatregret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new, better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret. It's experience.
