DEV1L
im guessing your f2p... using 2 attack styles in the wilderness will almost give you wins even against those prayer dudes. but in f2p i think a mage is the most feared combatant they can be very powerfull and can hit you far away like a archer

twr_phr33k
Get lvl 40 means you can wear green hide, which means when you PK you will have more resistance to mage attacks.
evilboy1034
Just having good range will totally pay off. At lvl 70 I hunt blue dragon and it has paid off all the arrows/knives I have used training range. Totally raise your range.

Seanthorn
I'm going to answer your question...lol. Well i was like you, i was a warrior based character. And kinda the same story, i found some arrows in the wildy, 12k Iron to be exact. I managed to get my Range level from 18 to 52 in literally 2 days. Its easy if you hate white knights like me... And YES, it is worth it. Now i'm stuck at 52 and thinking, "Why the hell did i just raise my range to 52 knowing that i will never use it again?" Hmmm.... :wall:
Malhavok
Alot of the slayer monsters and other require a d-hide defense to beat effectively, so I say yes it is! Geaux Tigers ! Congrats on a great year !
sheepdean
if you want a fire cape, you either need a miracle or a crystal bow. crystal bows need 70 ranged, miracles need a lot of religion, you choose which is easier. also, for 100% quest completion, you need 60 ranged. i hate ranged myself, but i got to 50, and will eventually get to 70, just for a fire cape Back by popular demand! And I guess I just wanted to tell you, as the light starts to fade, that you aree the reason, that I am not afraid, and I guess I just wanted to mention, as the heavens will fall, that we will be together soon if we will be anything at all. Danlee
Get lvl 40 means you can wear green hide, which means when you PK you will have more resistance to mage attacks. yea hes totally right mosty only works for f2p though The sentence below is false. The sentence above is true. qopitar
And YES, it is worth it. Now i'm stuck at 52 and thinking, "Why the hell did i just raise my range to 52 knowing that i will never use it again?" Hmmm.... :wall: Huh? How was it worth it if you will never use it again? I don't pk so I can't say anything about the value of range in that area. In non-wildy areas, range is nice to have because you can safespot all sorts of monsters and, as a result, stay there killing them until you either run out of arrows (or crystal bow charge) or have an inventory full of stuff to bank. I can imagine that if you are pking as a mage, have someone snared, and then they protect from magic pray, nice range would allow you to put a few arrows in them. I think a lot of people raise their range because they can do so without affecting their overall combat level. If I use the tip.it combat calculator, I see that I could raise my range 8 levels before reaching 79 combat. Given the 'combat triangle', every extra tool in the toolbox helps, right? How was it worth it if you will never use it again? he was being sarcastic. Ranged is 100% worth every penny. Yes it might be painful to train initially, but once you hit 70, it rolls down hill from there because you can use crystal bow and go against some higher monsters that you might have a difficulty hitting otherwise, not to mention the ability to wear the cool and good black d'hide. 6,924th to 30 hunting, 13,394th to 30 summoning, 52,993rd to 30 DivinationKiln Record (Post-EoC): W 25 - L 0, 14 Uncut Onyx, 8 Jad hits received (Best record: Two in the same kiln)Obby set renewed post update #2: 0QBD drops: 21 crossbow parts, 3 Visages, 1 Kites, 2 KitsMax Port Score [2205] Achieved: 27th April 2013 (World 2nd) Farmyard Rampage ranking: 12th, 50,000 Kills. coza_17
yes it is worth it, obviously don't go crazy on it, (it's usually lower than peoples attk str and def lvls) because range is time consuming and does get tiresome after a while... if only i could afford to train with rune throwing knives...anyway, 50-60 should do for most people, 70 is worth it though for the black dhide and karils set, and of course, the crystal bow. Berrakus
Since you said that you are a PKer, then raising your Range means more HPs without raising your Combat Level. What's not to like about that? Dragon Drops - 10 Meds, 9 Legs, 5 Skirts, 2 Left HalfPM me to have any potions made or crafting done

First i wanted 60 rangeto be able to de ME1. Now I want 70 to be able to use the crystal bow and the full black dhide that I got from the quests and treasure trails. I hate it when I get an item I can't use... Other data was removed when acoount got hacked...
