I was quite suprised to see a sky in one of their images. With all the recent graphics updates perhaps Jagex will add a sky to the game. I don't see the need of a sky in the game, I can't see it working very well either. Personally I think they added a sky to that pic otherwise the black background that replaces the sky would be a little dominating, and the picture wouldn't look half as nice as it does now  .

But why Crandor, I have to wonder? Why didn't they add skies to all the other cities and islands?

It would just replace the black you see when looking far away.

I think it would be a nice improvement. The black sky looks odd when everything around you is bright and sunny.

Like all other graphics updates, it's just there to look pretty. :D

To be honest i think its soo ugly!
Interesting. I didn't think there would be people opposing a new sky. Thanks for your comment!

I like the blue sky in that picture. Especially the way it gets lighter as it gets closer to the horizon. Just like a real sky would!

I think clouds would be too difficult to make in RS. But you never know, now that the new engine is finally here.

Thinking about it now...

Back way before rs2 came out jagex would release behind the scenes images, to show us progress on the 3d update.

I remember one of the pictures showing us a building and in the background a blue sky like in this current image.

It does look brilliant. Makes things seem a lot more attractive and less bleak than that black background.

Just one thought... is it entirely neccessary though?

Surely there wouldn't be too much opposition to them implementing this sky feature, but really, would it improve your overall enjoyment of the game?

Well... maybe it would... who knows?! :P

Looks realy purrrrrrrdy though :D

Cant u just change to high detail?

No; unless it's been changed recently, high detail's sky is just as black as low detail.

I was editing a screenshot added sky and... it looked terrible.

A mad scientist in the attic, the owner is a vampire that dwells in the basement, a witch, skeletons, ghosts....

And you thought YOUR neighbors were weird!
