  1. Thanks for reminding me how much I miss old RS2 :(
  2. A difficult quest doesn't always equal a breathtaking storyline. ;) I'm hoping they will keep it like While Guthix Sleeps, where there are slow parts with little or no combat, and also boss fights and combat related things thrown in.
  3. Yeah.. The old GUI of rs2 really gave the game a midieval feel to it. I miss it too
  4. @I Don't Care: A reason why I've been unsubscribed for years now. I refuse to support a company that has become so apathetic towards botters and it's own integrity. I used to love this game, but from now on I'll tell my friends to avoid runescape or whatever MMOs Jagex has in the making.
  5. I'll chime in and say, that if you truly love this game there is no reason to cheat. I could go on to say that botters are immoral and lack any kind of goal setting skills. Sure runescape is grindy, we all know this. But to play this game you have to enjoy the grind.
  6. Runescape Episode I: Lord of The Bots In the land of Misthalin, where the yew trees lie. One bot to find them, one bot to chop them, One bot to take every resource thats not nailed down, And somewhere in the darkness a man stands ready, to fight the endless hoard of unfeeling bots that infest runescape! *sound of thunder*
  7. That I can't say for certain. But I remember a time especially when Mod Geoff was CEO, people were getting banned left and right for trivial things like saying google. Bots were mainly on throwaway's. Now you can see videos of the wilderness ditch where 138s repeatedly attempt to jump over in vain. Players see jagex's leniency toward cheating nowadays and take it to heart.
  8. i just started playing more on my account that was 900 total, and i'm having more fun than i've had on my 2350 total account in a while lol@u implying that you must bot to get high levels Then you misunderstood me. I did not say that you have to bot to be high level. But clearly a good portion of the rs community does not share your opinion. Yeah, because you know. Doesn't have anything to do with a lot of people having played for 8+ years, and a lot of people choosing to spend their time efficiently. How likely is it that most maxed players in this game are older veterans since classic? Not many I'd gather. Now if we can cut the sarcasm and discuss bots without being an ass I'd appreciate it. I'll reiterate my point. I'm NOT saying every high level bots. I'm pointing out the increase in competitiveness and appeal of end game boss hunting has led to more people taking the "shortcut" approach i.e. botting.

  10. Their new player base is in jeopardy if they don't get rid of the bots. Who would want to play a game where everything fun is in the high levels? I refuse to believe that we have this many maxed players because of their dedication to runescape. As the average player's combat level rises, there will be more new players who either quit or bot their way to the "good" content.
  11. I hope when the 'ritual' in the North happens that we'll actually get to choose which mahjarrat we want to support. Most of the time our character is such a goodie goodie. I want to bring about the end of gielenor!
  12. Back in 2005 when I started playing essence was actually a good way for starter players to earn money. I used to mine half my ess to sell and the other half to train runecrafting. It's like the trade limit. People said that the removal of price limits would ruin the economy, however, it eventually would balance itself out. Same with the gathering skills. They may be mind numbing activities for most. But if you need the money you'll train them.
  13. Saw a guy at the GE offering to "double ur money." He got played at his own game after he traded the money back twice and then got a random event. :P
  14. The article Trade Off seemed very one sided and didn't give a good argument why free trader is a good thing for the community. How about increased interaction with fellow runescapers, and a real use for the marketplace forums? Being able to buy quest items for higher than 5% max price (YAY! :D), Player run companies like W66 fast free laws, giving gifts to friends, private drop parties!!
  15. What worries me is Jagex could have planned this update all along. They only waited till after free trade was returned as a cushion for the numbers of players that would quit because of this lighter stance on cheaters.
  16. Jagex should, instead of resetting accounts, disable a players cheater's ability to trade or use the GE. Have fun with those 99s. Now you get to farm for your gear!
  17. Was hoping they removed that eyesore of a volcano. :/ oh well..
  18. I enjoy a good dessert. :D Maybe players would be nicer to each other if they went for icecream?
  19. It's easy to see how baseless their claim of 'credit card fraud' is now. Anyone could see that no matter how many restrictions you apply, cheaters will always exist in a game. The start of 2007 I hoped that some day the players of runescape would show their resistance and not buy membership. It seems that jagex has finally realised how much profit they are losing of REAL players. not the bots :D Glad they still care about the honest players who love this game.
  20. Though in the case of gays who were bullied to suicide, it's probably the same thing as being killed directly for it. Honoring them at the same time as those who were directly killed for it makes sense. They probably wouldn't have died if they weren't tormented based on their orientation, after all. Something like this draws attention to that kind of senseless death, regardless of who the killer actually is. I remember seeing Tyler Clementi's thread on another forum asking for advice on what to do about his roommate spying on him. But I like many others simply watched silently and felt like the situation would resolve itself. I think it's revealing how much we all take responsibility in these suicide cases. Because right now you could have a gay friend, maybe a total stranger that needs to reach out to somebody.
  21. So you admit your own prejudice.. Thats like saying I'm not racist, I just don't want black people around me. Please explain why you are afraid of these gay people? I think gay men have a harder time expressing their female side than heteros. For whatever reason we believe that romantic relationship with a female is undesirable. Therefore we equate feminine traits with being sexually undesirable and our masculinity is put on a pedestal.
  22. I agree with Saru to live and let live. Nothing wrong with being flamboyant but I can also understand why some gays want to distance themselves from that stereotype. I don't want people to look at me and instantly think I'm gay. EDIT: and I don't think thats hating ones own sexuality, I just find it unfitting with how I view myself. If that makes sense.
